She gives me a devilish smile before wiping the corner of her mouth with her thumb. “Oh, I plan on changing for class, but I wanted to look my best for my man before he left,” she purrs, turning around so fast, her skirt flies up, showing us that she’s commando.
Levi walks up with his unemotional mask already in place and sets his bag on the floor as Emer paws at his chest. I know he said he had to play the dutiful fiancé, but this is unbearable. She grabs his already perfected tie and looks at him lovingly before giving all of us an apology.
“So sorry for keeping you guys waiting. But Leviathan just can’t keep his paws off of me for that long. So a quickie was called for before you guys left,” she says, patting Levi’s thigh.
“Oh please,” Ryker outright calls her out. “The only lust that’s been filtering in this room is Chester’s for Moni and ours for Rez.” While I doubt he’s making it up, that does nothing for the inferno coursing through my body.
My entire focus is her hand on what’s mine, and I see a red bullseye. Before I can take two steps to permanently remove the offending limb by ripping it off her body, I’m spinning around and Knox is slamming his mouth to mine. All the rage washes away from me as I go limp in his arms. Knox is all consuming when he decides to dominate you even through something as small as a kiss. His powerful yet soft lips claim me, and when his tongue probes against the seam of my lips, demanding me to open, there’s no denying him.
He sweeps his tongue along mine in the briefest of teases before pulling back and whispering, “Better?”
Gazing up at him in a daze, I give him a goofy smile, “Yeah,” not remembering why he even kissed me until I hear a scoff.
“I see you couldn’t decide on just one of them, huh?” Emer taunts, and luckily for her Levi takes that moment to escort her to the door as her whiny voice trails behind her.
Knox’s arms tense around me to keep me from doing something stupid as we turn and watch them at the door.
“Now don’t worry, Dad’s taking care of everything for Sunday. And of course, if you’re really missing me before then,” she says, running her fingers up his bicep. “I can always sneak away and come over for some fun.” She flutters her lashes in some attempt to be seductive as she straightens out Levi’s jacket lapel. Unaffected, he gently pries her claws off of him and gives her a tense smile.
“I’ll be there on Sunday. Noon, correct?” he confirms in a dead voice.
“The ceremony is at noon, so you’ll have to be there at ten o’clock, but your family is invited to attend an hour early,” she says and glances over at all of us. “Your immediate family, that is.”
Levi purses his lips and leans in to give her a quick and chaste kiss on the cheek that looks more like he’s just pressing his lips to her with the lightest touch possible. “I’ll see you this weekend. Have a good day, dear.” His tone is pleasant but his left eye is twitching.
‘That woman is the devil,’Timber growls out as she opens herself up.
‘You can say that again,’I remark, rolling my eyes.
As soon as Emer steps within the doors reach, Timber pushes Emer out of the door with a slam.
“You rude ass Door Knight!” Emer curses from the hall.
Levi turns around and within a few big steps, he pulls me into his arms, palms the back of my head and dips me, kissing the breath from me.
Holy shit!
My nipples pebble, and tingles rush down my back as I’ve never seen this side of Levi before. Setting me back on my feet, I brace my hands against his pecs, breathless from the intensity in his eyes. His hazel gaze is the only thing I see as he takes up my whole world and sets the record straight.
“Don’teverquestion what I feel for you. Nothing happened in that room except her poor attempt to turn me on and make you jealous. She didn’t touch me, and there’s no way in hell I would touch her. She has no sway over me and she knows it. That’s why she had to get her father involved,” he informs me, clenching his jaw. His look softens once again as he takes in my pout and furrowed eyebrows. Running his hand along my jaw and down my neck causes me to shiver, and he gives me a slight smile. “I know you want to deck her, but you can’t, Rez. At least not outside of combative classes. One of the reasons we’re all going back home is to try to find a way out of this mess before Sunday. We will find a way, Rez. All of us.” He turns and that’s when I remember the rest of the guys.
Zeke, Knox, JP, and Ryker are all behind me and nodding along with Levi.
“Yeah, Spitfire. We’re in this together. We’re not giving up on you or Levi,” Zeke says, pulling me into his embrace. “It’s all or nothing, and I refuse to be without you.” He gives me a flirty smile before kissing me.
“Off my temptress, Zeke,” Ryker interrupts, gently pulling me away. I slam into his chest and squeal from the slight pain from the pinch to my ass.
“Asshole,” I growl out with no heat, squinting up at him.
“True, but I’myourasshole, and I don’t want your other asshole getting you all worked up so you’re trying to take care of yourself as soon as we leave. That pussy belongs to me, so no playing with what’s mine.”
“Same could be said for you, so watch it,” I tease before he kisses me and walks past. I can’t stop myself from slapping his ass hard as he passes. His eyes flash an electric blue for a moment before returning back to green, and he waves his finger in a tsking motion.
I love pushing his buttons.
“We’re gonna be late,” Knox announces before giving me a wet lick up my cheek and smiling when I yell out ‘gross,’ wiping the saliva off my face.
I watch as JP cleans up the kitchen but sets out a plate for me on the counter.
