“No, no, no,” Sammy cuts me off. “This is the right option. This we can control. I promise this is the right way.”

I sigh, knowing this is a huge ask. No one wants to use their wedding as a trap. That’s exactly what we are asking these two to do.

Brooklyn and Deja have already held this off because of the Alliance and its drama. I hate having to ask this of them. However, I get why it has to be them.

“We’ll do it,” Deja says before I can speak again. “When does the first wedding need to happen?”

“Six months from now. That’s when everything will be ready. The wedding planning and the trap. We’ll need to work together on it all.”

I knit my brows as my son pulls a laptop from his backpack and places it on the table. Glancing at the screen as I look over his shoulder, I see he has the plans drawn out before him.

“If you are not a Donati, Locatelli, O’Brien, McGowan, Krupin, Black, Briggs, or Mariette, you are dismissed. Sim, Lovie, the packets, please,” Sammy says like a boss.

I nod at everyone, letting them know they can leave. Sim and Lovie begin to hand out the packets Sammy has requested. I had walked past the office earlier and seen Lovie and Jamie helping Sammy with something, making booklets and binding them in presentation folders.

I hadn’t known at the time what he was up to and couldn’t stop to find out as Logan had arrived and Misha was waiting for us. I wasn’t about to allow the two to be in a room alone. Uri had still been helping Val and his family get into their rooms.

“Deja, I will need you to fill in your packet as it has all the bridal questions. Please take this seriously and plan the wedding to look as real as possible.

“The second wedding will be planned under a different name for prying eyes to miss. Yes, you guys still have spies watching you, but they cannot be removed at this time.

“I will hand my father a list of those he needs to keep an eye on. Although Mom has already confirmed a few and he’s already aware. You should all remain armed and cautious, as I will purposely not tell you about coming attacks.

“Relax. I will let nothing get by that will be fatal. You all need to trust me,” Sammy says and holds his hands up as the others begin to grumble.

“Why take the risk?” Nate says.

“If you all are aware of everything, every time, it will expose me. I will have to play my hand much sooner. If I tell you only what is needed, when it’s needed. I will be hidden for several years.”

Sammy pauses and taps his chin, then continues. “Um, to reveal myself now or when I’m in my twenties. Let me think. Um … I will wait.”

I snort. This kid has been showing more and more personality. I didn’t miss how he’s been hanging with the Blacks since he arrived yesterday with Misha and his family.

“Okay, kid. I hear you,” Nate chuckles.

Suddenly, Sammy pauses, and his eyes go distant. My throat tightens. Something is coming. I’ve come to realize that most of the time when things make him freeze, they are either important or events in the near future.

The room falls silent as we all watch and wait, not wanting to interrupt what he’s seeing. I still can’t get over everything Kiyoshi shared with me about how my son saved his son’s life.

Ren Takahashi was on our kill board. Ne, or should I say, Yui did us a favor. I believe Sammy has earned their loyalty for life.

“Lovie, we must talk,” Sammy says as his eyes clear.

With that, he stands and heads out of the room. I stare after him with my brows knit. I don’t miss that Jamie has followed after them and Logan looks to be seconds off stepping out himself.

“How am I to train a future team for that?” Nate breathes.

“You don’t. He will be a force all by himself. I believe assigning him a team would be more of a hindrance. If anything, I will hand him a decoy team.”

“Make it look like he has security as if he’s no threat?” Bobby asks.

“Exactly.”

Sammy

“They are coming, but if I tell them, the Bellas will wake. Not yet, I need them to remain asleep. It’s not their time,” I whisper to Lovie.

“Tell me what you need. I’ve got your back.”
