I take a breath and flip through my visions, changing the view a few times. I get to a satisfactory outcome and nod to myself. This has to be the way.

“We can stop them on the mainland. Day after tomorrow.”

“I’m coming,” Jamie says.

I turn to find Uncle Jamie watching us. I knew he was coming. I’ve already seen that he’s not going to back down.

“Fine, but we don’t need you.”

I turn and walk away to keep an eye on this situation in my mind’s eye and make sure nothing changes. I will also have to come up with a plan to get to the mainland with Lovie without Mom getting suspicious.

She can’t come with us. Mom will blow everything up if she sees what’s going to happen. Nope, she and my aunts all need to remain here.

I will handle this one.

CHAPTER 39

Family Fun

LaSalle

“Thanks for those basketball tickets, bro,”Johnathan Black says to Nate.

“No problem. How was the game?”

“It was a good one. We enjoyed ourselves.”

I grin, knowing Roni is as big a basketball fan as Tasha. We’ve been to a game with Roni and John before. Those two were as entertaining as the game was.

A few of us are lounging around after the meeting. We’re in one of the large common areas. There are four in the common house where everyone on the island can come and hang out.

This structure holds suites, meeting rooms, classrooms, training rooms, three kitchens, a theater, and the hangout areas. I had this place designed with Tasha and our kids in mind. I wanted the island to grow with us for years to come.

Someplace our kids’ kids and our friends’ kids and their kids would be able to come for generations. I’m still adding on as wecome up with more things we would like to have here. It’s a slice of paradise for sure.

At the moment, we’re sitting around having a few drinks while some kids are still out at the pool, while others are in the arts and crafts room or in the gaming room. I have enough trusted staff here for everyone to be able to kick back without having to worry about watching over the kids.

“Ach, the nerve. Someone get me a whiskey,” Laoise McGowan growls as she enters the room and pushes Ryan out of his seat with more force than I expect her to be capable of.

From the looks on the faces of the others, they’re just as surprised. I stifle a laugh as Ryan tumbles to the floor and looks up at his grandmother in shock. I may manage to hold back my laughter, but Ryan’s brothers are cracking up.

Braxton is damn near in tears. Cass’s mother is just as feisty as she is. I have just as much respect for Laoise as I do Cass.

“Granny, what’s up?” John asks.

“The lot of them are all out of their minds. Now I understand why me boy was so livid on the last one of these trips. Ro is going to kill her, I tell ye. He’ll kill her; he will.

“And then how do I get me only great-granddaughter? The lad isn’t right in the noodle as it is. He’s not the full shilling at all; he isn’t.”

“Granny, what are you talking about?” Noah asks.

“Dean has lost her mind and so has the lot of them, rehearsing to parade around in their undies. Does she not see the way me son is about her? Madness to provoke that lad, it is.”

“Oh, I get it. They’re planning on a little showtime. Did we have something planned for this trip?” Ryan asks from the floor.

“No, I wasn’t thinking about it with the girls just having babies. I figured we’d sit this one out this trip. Especially with how pissed Uncle Ronan was last time.”

“Yeah, I didn’t want to provoke a repeat of that. He actually pulled the trigger. Dean should be banned from participating,” Brax says.
