Chapter Nine

Demon

“What are we going to do boss?” Rhodie asked as soon as I made it to the front of the table.

“There are things I need to tell you, but before I begin, I need to know who’s loyal?”

“What the fuck?” Rhodie said, staring around the room. Curtis stood and moved next to the door his arms crossed. Rhodie went to the other side of the door next to him.

“Anyone who doesn’t want to be in this club, leave now. I won’t say anything. You’ll be out, no questions asked. I refuse to have anyone in my club that doesn’t believe in it. I need to be able to trust every one of you.” I made sure I looked at every one of their faces. Made them look me in the eyes.

“I know some of you are unhappy with the way the club’s going. And I’m not going to let it go back to the old days. This club’s going to be on the up and up. My job is to make this club prosperous, and I found a way to do it legally. So if you don’t like it. Leave.”

I pointed toward the door and waited. When I explained what was going to happen next, I needed everyone on my side.

“We’re with you.” Satan moved next to me.

“Last time, choose now.” I turned my back on them. Giving them the option to do it without having me watching them. I gave them my spiel, it was up to them. “And hurry. Shits going down and I need all my men behind me.”

When I didn’t hear anyone move, I turned. All my men were sitting. A couple of the old timers leaned back in their chairs as if they were going to be there a minute. “Alright, let’s get down to it.”

I explained everything to them. Everything that happened at the police station had to be disclosed, but it also had to be with full trust.

“We leave in twenty. Get your shit. I’ll meet you in the parking lot.” The guys went out of the room, their faces either grim, or excited with what was about to happen.

“Are you going to talk to Angel?” Satan asked still by my side.

I sighed, dropping down heavily in my chair. “I owe you an apology.”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

“I promised you I’d take care of her and she got stabbed.”

Satan grabbed a chair, and sat in front of me. “Demon stop being a dumbass. You don’t think I’m scared everyday I wake up with Annette?”

“Yeah, but this is different. Annette never had a knife pulled on her.”

“You don’t think Annette hasn’t gotten in her share of scraps? I’ve seen her beat the shit out of some biker skank wanna-be for looking at me funny. Hell, her scrappiness was why I fell in love with her in the first place.”

“A few cat fights aren’t what I’m talking about.”

“But isn’t it? Loni threw a knife at her because she was holding a gun. This isn’t something you could’ve stopped.”

“I could’ve kept pushing her off. I shouldn’t have given in. Now she’s in danger.”

Satan stood up, “Stop being a jackass. Yes, this is my daughter, and I want her to be safe. Yes, I would’ve picked anyone else before entertaining you, but that didn’t fucking happen. Let’s take care of this so we can get you back to my daughter who for some damn reason loves you.”

Satan smacked me on the back, before he walked out the door he turned. “And it goes without saying if you hurt her, Annette and I will destroy you.”

“You’d have to wait in line. If I hurt her, I’m destroying myself. Thanks, Satan. I won’t let her get hurt again.”

“Fuck, she had to choose you.” Satan went through the door, but not before I heard him chuckle.

Fifteen minutes later everyone was on their bikes. I took the lead, heading out to where I was told to be. There was no way to be quiet with a shit ton of bikes heading down the driveway. We announced our arrival with style.

There were a bunch of bikes on a cracked parking lot of a run-down bar. An angry growl ripped out of me seeing dirty slobs leaning against the outside wall. They came to attention when we parked.

“What the fuck are you doing here? I sent Donald to tell you to get the fuck out of town. Hey, Donald.” The man I assumed to be the leader asked just noticing Donald was missing.
