“No, I’m not going to fight back. I told Angel you were going to kick my ass, and I was going to let you.” I swiped the blood from my lip.
“I don’t want her in this. I wanted her to have a better life. I trusted you. I went to bat for you when you became president, and when you wanted to change the club around. You betrayed me.” He stormed out, the door banging against the wall.
I cracked my neck, pulling out a bandana to wipe the blood off my face. One beating down. Now it was time for me to deliver one.
Rhodie moved to the side, his gaze averted from my split lip. I opened the door he was guarding, ready to fuck up Donald. “Where the fuck is he?”
Before Rhodie could answer, I noticed the small window high up swung open. “Mother fucker escaped.”
I texted Angel giving her the heads up that her dad was on a warpath. She didn’t answer, so I went upstairs to shower and think about my next move. On the couch, I rested. I was exhausted from last night and today. I jerked awake when Rhodie pounded on my door.
“Boss, you need to get the fuck out of here. The cops showed up. Donald’s pressing charges on you. They’re here to arrest you.”
“That mother fucker is going to die.”
Rhodie pulled the door closed. “Get out of here boss. We’re keeping them busy downstairs.”
“I’m not running, I’ll go with them.”
Rhodie looked nervous, his blue Mohawk moving from me to the stairs. “No, Boss, get the hell out of here. I’ll tell them you weren’t here. That little shit’s going to die when we find him.”
“Don’t worry about it, Rhod. The club still has men on the inside. They’re not going to do anything to me. I’ll be home before dark. Call Satan and get him down here to deal with shit until I get back.”
“Are you sure? We heard Satan yelling at you, and he didn’t look too pleased when he walked out of here.”
It wasn’t the best time to get Satan back, but he was loyal to the club. He wouldn’t abandon it because he was pissed off at me. “Yeah, tell him to get his ass down here as fast as he can.”
Downstairs two officers stood by the doorway, looking uneasy in a biker bar. I recognized both of them as ones that were on our side when we took the club on the up and up. Donald had no idea how bad he fucked up.
“John, Robert, what brings you into my fine establishment?”
The officer’s visibly relaxed when I greeted them. “Hey, Demon. We’re really sorry about this, but we need you to come with us.”
“Can I follow you on my bike?”
“Actually, we want this to look as official as possible. There are some things going down that we would like to fill you in on.” The officer’s brow went up, letting me know there was more to this than just an assault charge.
“Then lead the way. Rhodie call Satan, now.”
“He’s on his way, boss.”
