It was hard to think with him so close, let alone deny him. But who was I kidding? I wanted to see him again as badly as I needed to breathe.

“Yes.”

“Did you save my number before you rubbed it off?” He lifted my arm to my eyeline.

I raised my eyebrow. “It’s not gone, it won’t come off. It took me an hour just to get it like this.”

He smirked. “Yeah, Sharpies don’t smudge.”

“I’ll remember that next time I’m hooking up with a random man in Vegas and can only find a regular pen,” I shot back.

His eyes narrowed with an ill-concealed jealousy that made my heart flutter. “Show me where you saved my number.”

I frowned. “No.”

His face fell, his features painted in a vulnerability I’d never have expected from him, a professional athlete and sex god. “Please, Luck, show me. I need to know you didn’t just try and wipe it off.”

I reached into my purse, unlocking my phone before handing it to him. “Here.”

He took it and dialed his number, bringing up where I’d saved him in my contacts. His phone buzzed in his hand, my number flashing across the screen, which he saved. I could see him fiddling around with the messages as I held my hand out for him to give my phone back to me.

He placed it in my palm before snatching it back. “What’s VSG?”

Fuck.

I’d forgotten that’s what I’d saved him under.

My eyes flared, a flush scorching across my cheeks. I didn’t need a mirror to know I was bright pink. Thank God the car was dark so he couldn’t see the extent.

“What is it? Tell me.”

With anyone else I might have put up more of a fight, but he seemed to have stripped me of any inhibitions, just like he did a year ago. I closed my eyes taking a deep breath, preparing myself for the mortification I was about to subject myself to. I partially re-opened one to find him looking at me, expectantly.

“Luck?”

“Vegas Sex God,” I mumbled as an ambulance passed, sirens blaring.

His face scrunched up as he tried to figure out what I’d said. “What?”

“Vegas Sex God,” I enunciated loudly.

For a split second his eyes sparkled in amusement, then in a blink filled with so much heat they lasered straight into mine, pooling molten lava deep in the pits of my belly. The throb intensified between my legs, and a fresh flood of wetness soaked my panties.

How was it possible to have this much chemistry with one person, especially when you were only seeing them for the second time in a year?

He groaned loudly, shifting his crotch. At least I wasn’t the only one uncomfortable.

“Oh fuck, you’re going to be the death of me, but we’re doing this properly. I want to date you.” He sounded like he was trying to convince himself; as if he said it out loud then it would become true.

“Drew, we’re on Greene Street,” called his driver.

I looked out of the window. “It’s just up here on the left.”

The car pulled over.

“Come on, I’m walking you to the door.”

I put my hand on his thigh. “You don’t have to.”
