“We are.”

I can’t help but take a deep breath in response as soon as he confirms it and I drag my eyes downward.

“Does that bother you?”

My eyes meet his when he says the words and I ponder while scanning his deep brown orbs. I honestly don’t know if it does or doesn’t. I haven’t really thought about it, so I simply shrug my shoulders and I shake my head.

“No, I don’t really know anything about it.”

He gives a gentle nod before placing a forkful of food in his mouth and we search each other's eyes while we chew. In that moment, I acknowledge that I feel extremely safe around Reign, his powerful presence is always like a comfort blanket wrapped around me and I decide maybe I could find solace in him and speak about my stalker situation.

“Reign, I want to tell you something. I don’t know why, but I feel safe around you and you’re mature and I know you won’t look at me like some weird little girl.”

His brows pinch and he shakes his head once as if he can sense my fright while I blabber on.

“What the fuck are you talking about, Charley?”

I take a big swallow, realizing this will be the first time I have ever told anyone what I am going through, but just as I am about to tell him, I hear Chaos’ voice from behind Reign and we both look that way.

“What are you two eating?”

I completely shut down and it is not Chaos' fault, but just thinking about laying it on both guys feels daunting to me right now. Reign turns around between my legs and continues to rest against me as Chaos closes the gap. I smile as I dig my fork into my food to gather a bite and when he is close enough, I hold it up to him and he immediately opens his mouth. As he chews, he leans in and kisses my lips firmly before withdrawing and opening the fridge.

"That's good shit, but you can tell it’s one of Reign's healthiest meals.”

I giggle before finishing and Reign turns around to face me. When we look into each other’s eyes, he leans in to give me a soft kiss on the lips. I kiss him back and when he withdraws, he winks.

“I’ll see you later.”

He takes both our plates, dropping them into the skin before walking away. When it is just me and Chaos, I look at him to see him eying me suspiciously while gulping water down.

“What?”

When he twists the lid back on, he gives a small head shake.

“Nothing.”

I hop off the counter and make my way toward him.

“Reign said you went for breakfast at your mom’s house?”

When I am within reach, he grasps my wrist and yanks me into him causing my small frame to thud against his hard muscles. He lets out a deep sigh while I tiptoe and lock my arms around the back of his neck with a smile and he leans down to squeeze my ass into his hands with his lips close to mine.

“That’s fucking right, and now that I’m with you, I don’t want to think about it.”

I run my fingers through his curly brown hair as I glance at his lips.

“Okay, so what are we doing for the day?”

His brow lifts when my eyes flick up to his.

“I’m feeling Netflix and chill.”

I giggle in response before we share a kiss, and he lifts me around him.

As the day fades into night, I am lying in bed with Chaos. The room is dimly lit by the soft glow of the TV on the wall, casting flickering shadows across the walls. The heavy rain patters against the windows, creating a soothing background noise. We lie facing each other, our fingers intertwined, exchanging silent but meaningful glances that speak volumes without a single word uttered until I talk quietly.

“I suppose I should really go back to my dorm this week; I will get kicked out if they find out I’m not staying there.”
