I gritted my teeth, but before I could bellow, Eve explained everything that had happened. This was something I’d not foreseen. The Founding Five were siding with Alicia? Why? No fool puts friends before business, especially a wife’s friendship. What the hell was going on? Alicia had no talents, skills, or special abilities. I’d have known. Was Alicia having an affair with one of the husbands? That wouldn’t surprise me. Men like them had mistresses; they just kept them quiet, and the women knew to be discreet.
Something I should have ensured Eve understood. Sadly, discretion wasn’t a word in her vocabulary. But I noticed the jealous looks from other men when I had Eve on my arm, and that made me feel good. My inner voice murmured that I received the same glances with Alicia—and more so than with Eve.
I wanted to expand Eliganz again, and investors never hurt. And while I couldn’t stand those women, and I thought the men were stuck-up assholes, their money was a beautiful thing.
“Okay, let’s invite the Founding Five over for dinner so they can get to know you without Alicia poisoning their minds. Once they spend some time with you, how can they fail to love you?”
Eve looked up and sniffed. Jesus, even when she cried, Eve was stunning. Inappropriate as it might be, because of her tears, my cock still reacted.
Eve smiled uncertainly. “Do you think so?”
“Baby, I fell the moment I saw you.” That was true. I’d been attracted to Eve’s tight ass, perky tits, and gorgeous face. Who wouldn’t want to bang that? Eve’s only issue was her lack of education and class. But she was so determined to please me,it wouldn’t take long to train her. And a huge benefit was Eve didn’t want kids.
Who wanted snotty-nosed brats taking attention away from them? Not me. I deserved to be the centre of a woman’s world, and I wasn’t sharing with any needy, little horror. Sure, when I was older, I’d have an heir, but nannies would take care of it. I was building a legacy and would need someone to carry on my name and work. Until then, out of mind and out of sight was a better solution for me.
“Okay, I’ll look into caterers,” Eve said, looking excited.
“In the kitchen, in a drawer, is a list of the caterers I prefer. Book a date and let me know. I’ll send the invites out,” I stated.
Eve wriggled on my lap. “And the club?”
“Once they’ve had a meal with us, I’m sure you’ll be admitted. After all, it would be rude to deny you otherwise.”
Eve beamed as her wriggling provoked a different reaction. I pressed the office intercom. “I don’t want to be disturbed for half an hour.”
Eve’s eyes went wide, and I unbuttoned her shirt and nuzzled her breasts. God, I loved these tits.

“Forgive me, darling. I thought you just stated we’re going to dinner with Kensington and his mistress,” I said, pausing in my nightly routine.
Aaron lounged on the bed, dressed in only pyjama bottoms. His muscled chest was on full display, something I usually relished, but not tonight. Aaron glanced over and smirked. “You heard right. Oliver invited us, I accepted.”
“Fuck that! I’m not going.”
“Oh, you are, my sexy minx, because we’re going to inform Kensington what a fool he was, and that whore will never be admitted to our circle.”
I chewed that over. “Not attending would do that as well.”
“Yes, but then we couldn’t tell Kensington face-to-face that we’re also cutting ties. There’re rumours Kensington’s looking to expand. No funding will come from us, nor will we recommend him. Our investment with Kensington paid off, but now we’re clear. However, his morals and ethics don’t align with ours.
“Jude and Ryder may be two of the most ruthless assholes out there, but they’d never cheat or treat their wives like Kensington did. Alicia’s treatment showed Kensington’s real personality. The asshole is a raging psychopath combined with sociopathic tendencies. He’s a complete narcissist and very dangerous. Kensington’s shown no remorse for how he treated Alicia and doesn’t care he humiliated her. We don’t want to do business with him anymore.”
“That doesn’t mean others won’t, Aaron.” I finished applying my face cream and looked at him.
“No. There’s plenty that will take a risk on Kensington and his Eliganz chain. Have you heard something?” Aaron asked, and I frowned.
“About?”
“Mystique?”
I stiffened. “What about her?” I demanded, reading to go to war for Alicia.
“Mystique hasn’t signed for Eliganz yet. Rumours say she was seen leaving Zade’s HQ,” Aaron probed.
I grinned. “Has she now? Alicia hasn’t said anything, but good!”
“If Mystique signs for Zade, Kensington will be knocked off the number one spot. I’ll give him eighteen months before Harrisontakes it. From what I’ve heard, Harrison’s a decent guy with solid ideas.”
