She took a shuddering breath.“Yes, I do.But I’m not lying.I’m just not telling you what’s on my mind,” she said and shrugged.

“How about we take care of your headache, and then we’ll discuss how this relationship is going to work? All right, baby?”Jon asked.

She didn’t question how he knew. The pain was increasing to the point she couldn’t focus. She pressed her fingers against her temples, hoping to relieve the pressure that was building. She knew it would get worse now that the adrenaline was going away.

Jon handed her two pills and then opened a bottle of water and put it in her hand.He watched her swallow and reached for the container. She shook her head and almost groaned in pain.

“Can I have a few more?Taking two won’t help at all.”

“Is this a migraine, baby?”

“Yes, I don’t have them often, thank God.If you could just get me home, I’d appreciate it very much.”She swallowed the last pills, let Koa take the bottle, and leaned her head back against the seat.A tiny moan slid from her mouth as she closed her eyes.Even though it was darker in the back of the limo, any light at that moment shot a sharp jagged pain through her head.

Koa watched her worriedly. She flinched over every bump in the road.“I’m going to call Jason, have him meet us at home,” he murmured softly.

Koa moved to the other side of the limo, took out his phone, and called one of their good friends that happened to be a doctor. He whispered what the problem was.He relaxed a bit when Jason said he’d meet them there.

He noticed Jon arranging Mina to lie down on the long seat and put her head on his lap.Koa grabbed a blanket from the cabinet and rushed to them.He moved her legs a bit to slide under them and then spread the blanket over her.

They heard her sigh when she pulled the blanket up over her head.Jon continued to stroke her hair under the blanket.

“He’s meeting us there,” Koa said in a stark, worried tone.

Jon nodded and stayed silent. It seemed that noise also made the pain worse.

It took less than half an hour to get back to the mansion.Macy drove up and parked in front.Koa moved to open the door before Macy and pressed a finger to his lips.Macy’s eyebrows came down.

“She has a migraine. We’re going to take her up to bed.Jason’s headed this way.”

Jon pulled her into his arms and then handed her off to Koa.He was relieved when he realized she’d fallen asleep.

The men took the elevator up to the top floor.

Koa lay her carefully on the bed they would all be sharing. He pulled off her shoes and socks. He was unzipping her pants when Jon got back with one of their button-down shirts.Between both of them, they had her undressed, into the shirt, and under the covers within a few minutes.

Koa went around the room and closed the heavy drapes, darkening the room. They turned on the bathroom light and left it open a crack to be able to see.

He heard her talking and walked back to the bed.Jon was on top of the covers next to her, gently moving his fingers through her hair.

“Where am I?”

Koa sat down next to her.He was glad she just looked confused instead of scared.

“You’re at our home, baby,” Jon whispered.

She squinted her eyes open.“Why?I thought you were going to take me home.”

Koa rested his hand on her stomach.“We did, baby. Our home.”

“You guys didn’t need to do that.”She looked from one to the other, making sure to move slowly to keep the pain from overwhelming her.“Don’t worry.A lot of people have migraines. It’s unpleasant, but I’ll be fine. You should take me home.”

“We’d like to keep you here with us so we can watch over you,” Jon said.

“I don’t want to be in the way.Besides, when I feel better, I have to job hunt.”She tried to smile.“Right now, I don’t care I’m jobless.I’m just glad to be away from Mr.Lewis.I will never be able to thank you both enough.I didn’t know what I was going to do.”

Jon bent and placed a kiss on her temple.“You’re welcome, sweetheart. Now rest for a bit.All right?”
