Tearing my mouth away, I rest my head against the tile as water falls on us and my whole being burns, my skin growing taut as he presses his lips to my throat, biting and sucking on me, probably causing a new set of hickeys that I’d have to cover, but in this moment I don’t care.

I arch a little, exposing my neck to his wandering mouth before he skims his lips over my scars as he continues to thrust into me, each movement harder and deeper than the previous one. “This is a mistake.” I sob, my fingers lacing in his hair when he props me higher and his thrusts deepen. He skims lower until his lips pull at my nipple before flicking his tongue over it. “We should stop.”

It should have been a one-time thing, my first sexual experience meant to demolish all my internal barriers. A secret no one else gets to tarnish.

A vice hidden from the world just like all my other emotions, however, Levi doesn’t let me do that.

In fact, he destroys all illusions and drags me into his tempting abyss, wrapping the invisible webs around my inexperienced body and teaching it to respond only to him.

And in this moment I wonder…is it so bad to indulge in my cravings and not think about the consequences?

“Why would we,moy cvetochek?” He moves to my other breast, trapping my nipple between his teeth and making me jolt in his embrace. I watch the vein on his neck pulse, his muscles almost rigid against me as his pace speeds up, the strokes becoming rougher. “I told you. We are inventible.” He trails his mouth upward until he connects us in a hot kiss, swallowing my moans, moving his hips back and forth as his drives become harder and faster, building the pressure inside me until I shatter.

My core spasms around his length as he thrusts a few more times until he finds his own peak, and we end the kiss, breathing heavily as we stare at one another, my arms wrapped around him and holding him close.

My heart contracts at the embrace, his scent and warmth bringing such profound relief to me. And this is a disaster.

“Levi. We can’t do this again,” I whisper into his neck, and groan when he turns off the water and steps out of the shower, the air cool against my skin. He places me back on my feet and I sway a little as he removes the condom and throws it in the trash can.

He spins me around to face the mirror, my hands landing on the sink and my fingers curling on the counter when he puts his palm on my stomach.

I look away from our reflection. It’s too much to handle for me; his flawless perfection shines brighter against my scarred flesh.

I bet if people saw us right now, they’d wonder why we are even together.

Levi doesn’t let me shy away from the truth, he grips my chin and forces me to focus back on the mirror that I want to smash. “Whenever you look at us, remember.” He skims his fingersto my neck and shoulder, grazing over my scars and hickeys. “There is no running away from this. I asked you to make a choice last night, and you did.” His hand settles on my throat. “Let go and accept the inevitable.”

Levi grew up in love and acceptance, so he has no idea how cruel the outside world can be to those who are different.

But more importantly…

He doesn’t understand that this game of his is just a pastime for him.

And it’s potential heartbreak for me.

Because I’d be the only one hurt once all of this ends.

Levi

Moy cvetochekis mine.

Unfortunately for her…this puts her forever on his radar and endangers her life.

Because what’s mine always threatens him, and that’s what would allow me to finally reel him out.

Lavender was supposed to be a means to an end.

Now, though?

God help anyone who tries to take her away from me.

Her brothers included.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

“Interesting thing about sorrow?

It’s a privilege for those who can actually focus on it and grieve their loss.
