She slips past Malcolm into the hallway, trailing her fingers over his chest in passing. “Yep.”

The man in question sighs, capturing her hand and letting her drag him towards the stairs. “You wouldn’t rather spend your day doing something more fun?”

Hastily, I spit and rinse, following behind them so I don’t miss anything exciting.

Scarlett simply shrugs. “Sounds like fun to me. Honestly, one of the biggest perks of all of this is the physical boost. You wouldn’t have caught me jogging before, but now, I can sprint a mile and barely get winded. Might as well put my new body to good use.”

I barely even open my mouth before she cuts me off, turning to point a finger at my face. “Shut it.”

Grinning first, I pantomime zipping my lips.

Malcolm brushes his knuckles over her cheek. “Alright, then. We’ll stay.” Pinning her against the wall, Malcolm kisses her, which quickly deepens until the scent of Scarlett’s arousal has a tortured groan slipping from my throat. Finally breaking away, her cheeks flushed, she lets him and Kasen guide her forward. It’s even worse with the three of us trapped inside of the confined space of the stairwell, and I have to bite my tongue to keep myself in check.

“How in the actual hell do you survive this torture?”

Kasen’s palm settles on her hip from behind.“Shallow breaths and determination.”

“And a sock permanently on your door knob?”

He laughs out loud. “That too.”

Scarlett chimes in, annoyed. “It's not nice to have secret conversations right in front of people, you know. They’ll assume you’re talking about them behind their back.”

“Oh, babe, of course we’re talking about you. What better topic is there to discuss?” As she shoots me a glare, I blow her a kiss. “We were comparing numbers.”

Her brow furrows. “Numbers?”

Winking as we reach the living room as I hear the door crack open, I loudly proclaim, “How many times a day we jack off to thoughts of you and the mage.”

Kasen’s cheeks heat right alongside hers, my cackles blending with those of the men standing in the doorway, unaware of what they’ve walked in on, but thrilled not to be a minute too late. Slinking past them to greet Carson, I ignore Kasen’s glare, focusing on how apt my mate’s name is. “See? That’s why we were keeping it within the pack link; otherwise this could get embarrassing.”

She takes a deep breath, choosing to try rolling with the punches. “The real question is, did you mean jacking off to thoughts of me and Malcolm together, or just switching between the two of us depending on your mood?”

Pride blooms in my chest as she meets me head on, Kasen currently muttering a prayer to the ceiling. “Sorry, gorgeous.” I tap my temple. “Pack link is a sacred, glorious thing, so you’re just going to have to wonder.”

She purses her lips, but drops it. Kasen catches my eye, seeing right through what I’m doing; pointing out that all of the cool kids are hanging out in the ultra exclusive club, sharing secrets. Pack links are fun things with awesome perks, not scary or intimidating, so she should key me into her brain pronto.

Giving her one last assessing once over to make sure she hasn’t changed her mind, I plaster a confident smile on my face that I don’t one hundred percent feel. Sweeping a hand towards my long-time friend and coworkers, I say the words I never thought would come out of my mouth.

“Carson, Carsonites, may I present my mate. And yes, be jealous, but no, you may not jerk it to visions of her incomparable beauty. You’ll catch a screwdriver to the eye if I see you checking out her ass, worth it as it may seem at the time for how amazing it is.”
