“I can make lunch if that’s your first birthday request,” Logan informed her.
“Myrequest?” Sam glanced between them. “You mean I get to ask for stuff?”
“This trip’s all about you.”
She put her finger on her lip and tapped, her eyes darting back and forth between them. “If I have a say in the matter, I’d prefer something … a little more intriguing.”
“Such as?”
Her eyes glittered. “I want to watch.”
Logan looked at Elijah. “I guess we better strip.”
Sam laughed. “Not yet.”
Smiling, he peered back at his wife. “No?”
She shook her head.
Elijah was perched on the arm of one of the sofas, watching them closely. He slowly stood, grinning wide. “Why don’t you go down to the pool while we get unpacked.” He glanced at his watch. “If you were to return, in oh, say, one hour, perhaps you’ll find a show you approve of.”
Sam’s gaze bounced between them, her eyebrows lowered in suspicion. “This is the honeymoon phase, isn’t it?”
Logan smirked. “Baby, that phase never ended. We’re just renewing our vows.”
She giggled and danced away when he reached for her. “You’re insatiable, you know that?”
He most definitely was. And he wasn’t ashamed to admit it.
“Okay, fine,” she said, moving toward her suitcase, which was standing near the door. “Let me change, and I’ll head down to the pool. I told McKenna and Sierra that I’d meet up with them as soon as I could.”
Logan leaned against the center island in the open kitchen, crossing his arms over his chest. This trip was about her. Her friends were all here, and he knew she needed to get in some face time with them. Despite the fact he’d prefer to get her naked and under him for the foreseeable future, he wasn’t about to be selfish with her time, no matter how much he wanted to be.

After Sam left, Elijah dragged their luggageinto the bedroom. With Logan’s help, they put away their things, getting settled in for the week they’d be spending in paradise, celebrating Sam’s fortieth birthday.
When they’d first started planning for this trip, there was no way he would’ve imagined things would’ve changed so drastically between them. Certainly not like this. For the past week, there’d been talks of a vow-exchanging ceremony and a few moreI love yous being said between them.
And while they hadn’t actually nailed a date for that ceremony, Sam had nailed it when she said this was the honeymoon phase because that was exactly what it felt like. The last time he’d felt this much anticipation churning in his bloodstream had been back when he’d first started dating Sam. And while there wasn’t necessarily anything new about their situation, it felt as though they were starting over, the dance beginning once again, only this time, there was one more pair of feet doing the box step.
As he was filling one of the drawers with the rest of his things, he felt the heat of Logan’s body when he stepped up behind him.
Elijah slowly closed the drawer, remaining as still as he could when Logan leaned down, his mouth close to his ear.
“I need to know the rules.”
“Rules?” Elijah asked, not sure what he was referring to.
Logan stepped closer, eliminating the space between them. “Are we playing this cool for everyone else?”
Elijah had actually given some thought to how they were going to come out to their friends. Would they go to Devotion? Would it be one of the get-togethers? He agreed with Logan in that he had no intention of hiding this from anyone. He’d never been ashamed of his desires before. He didn’t want to start now.
However, he’d wondered whether or not they would own up to the new dynamic during this trip or if they would maintain the status quo for outward appearances. It wasn’t that he was looking to molest the man in public, but he wasn’t sure he could pretend to be aloof when it came to Logan anymore. He’d never expected to have feelings for someone other than Sam, much less for a man who’d become his best friend over the years.
“Let me start by telling you what I want,” Logan said softly, his hands sliding over Elijah’s hips as his lips pressed lightly to the spot just beneath his ear.
Gas furnaces didn’t burn as hot as what was currently roaring to life inside him.
