"I can't wait to fuck you. After the wedding, we'll consummate it. I'll even give Gretchen to the men to celebrate. Keep you to myself for a while. Don't worry, they'll be fucking you, too.Afteryou have my baby."

"No, I can't. Please..."

"Shut your fucking mouth, whore, or I'll face-fuck you as part of the ceremony." And he smiles.

Bile rises fast.

He nods to the man holding the Bible. "Let's get this show on the road."

Inside, I shout out for Enzo.

But there's no answer.

"Promise me something. Lyndall Marino will be safe."

He frowns. "Darling whore, she's my safety net. I'm not about to screw with Mario Marino. Or his dangerous son. They can have her back, safe and sound, when we're married and you're knocked up."

I choke back a sob.

He makes me turn and face the man who smirks and lowers his eyes to the Bible in his hand.

As his mouth opens, the night suddenly explodes in gunfire and shouts.

There are men everywhere.

I scream and try to run to hide.

Dom pulls out his gun, stepping on my dress. With his free arm, he pulls me into him, that arm sliding around my neck in a chokehold.

He hauls me back to the house as bullets fly.

I struggle as he shoots back.

He is yelling, "Kill them. Kill them all. Paolo, the car."

And then he drags me inside.

"Let me go," I cry as he squeezes my throat tight with his arm.

I'm pressed against him, and I can't get free.

He chuckles. "The only way you're getting free, my love, is in a body bag."

Oh God.

This is my only chance to be saved. And as far as I can tell, unless death is merciful and takes me now, I'm never getting free of this monster.

"There is no way I'm letting you go before I have my fill of you. I'd rather kill you myself."

And to prove it, he shoots someone and drags me across the room.

As I avert my eyes from the body that has just crashed to the floor, my eyes fly to the people coming in.

And there, in the middle of them, is someone I know.

Someone I couldn't be happier to see.

Enzo.
