I reached for my gun in the back of my jeans, but one of the bikers was faster than I was and aimed

his pistol at my head. “Don’t even think about it,” he said.

My hand froze in place. “Please. I was just leaving town, and I swear I’ll never come back. Please

just let me go. I have no money…and I can’t dance. I won’t please any of the gentlemen you host here

every night.”

“What? She thinks we want her to shake her ass y’all.” Another one of the bikers, a blond one with

a beard, snorted.

The one in the middle, jet black hair reaching his shoulder, a messy beard and a sun- stroked face,

stared at me with a predatory gleam in his big, dark eyes, and my heart thrashed. When he got off his bike and stepped toward me, I stumbled back, noticing the patch on his cut. President.

He reached me with a bigger stride and grabbed me by the hair, getting out his own pistol. Then he

placed the barrel beneath my chin. He reeked of weed and beer as much as I reeked of fear. I bet he

could smell it on me because that predatory gleam in his eyes turned greedier with every heart throb

passing while he stared into my eyes. “Good job, Snake. She does look like her. She’ll do.”

“What?” I whispered.

“We ain’t here to make you shake your ass, little girl. You’re gonna wish we were, though, ’cause

soon enough all of you will be shaking all right.”

She’d passed out by the time we reached the clubhouse. I had to give it to her. When she tried begging and didn’t work, she put up one hell of a fight. A huntress posing as prey. Stupid one, though. She should have known she could have never won. One little girl and four armed fuckers like us and all. I had a feeling she knew we needed her alive for now. That was why she was fighting so hard, knowing

she wouldn’t die just yet.

I told Viper to put her in my room upstairs and stand guard outside while I showered. And I told

Cottonmouth to give Snake and Boots a treat. The prospects did an awesome job spotting and

distracting her while calling me to come down and collect the two-hundred-grand lottery ticket.

She had the same fucking eyes. Big and blue and haunted. However, everything else was a little

different. Her hair was dark red, not blonde. She didn’t look so blue blood when she was dressed

like a hiker, but with some tweaks she’d do. The only problem we’d have here was the Russian thing.

I’d detected a little bit of an accent in her words. She wasn’t Southern for sure. She was no Russkiy either.

I turned off the water, wrapped a towel around my waist and headed out of the bathroom and into

my room. She was still knocked out in my bed, blood covering her forehead from when Viper

headbutted her, her lip busted from when she fell down after.
