I shook my head. “Why do you hate her so much?”
“She’s a fucking…” His fingers clawed like he was about to strangle someone.
“Woman. That’s the word you’re looking for. An independent, real, togetherwoman.”
“She has no respect for anyone and irritates the fuck out of me.”
“She’s a firecracker. She needs to be handled with care.”
“She’s human and fucking off-limits.”
He snatched me from my reverie. “You had to be such a dick right now?”
“You needed a slap in the face to wake you the fuck up.”
I jumped to my feet and finished up my beer. “Fuck you very much.”
“Any time, Bro.”
Throwing the bottle, I took off. Then I lit another joint as I headed to the pool, unbothered by my brother’s shouts urging me to come back.
She was admiring the night sky, her arms folded over her beautiful tits. “You like stargazing, Professor?”
Her head jerked toward me. “You startled me.”
I went closer. “Sorry.”
She lifted her eyes back to the sky. “So the sleazebag is the President of this dump, my psycho brother is the VP, what does a Criminal Justice student do for the notorious Blood Demons?”
A smirk curved my lips. “Uh...I’m the Treasurer. I keep the books.”
“Interesting. And the charming Terror?”
“Road Captain. You can read the patches on the cuts, and you’ll know who’s who here.”
“He wasn’t wearing it when he busted me at school. Funny…I could have bet good money he was the…Sergeant Enforcer thing.”
“Nope. The Sergeant Enforcer thing is Inferno.”
“The sweet spankee is the Enforcer? Huh! Do you know what that means?”
My mouth twisted with a snicker. “No?”
“The poor thing has so much pain on the inside, probably out of guilt about what he does.” She took a deep breath, weaving a little. “That or serious Daddy issues.”
I held her arm, steadying her. “Don’t know about the guilt, but you’re spot on with the daddy issues.”
She looked at my hand which I pretended I’d forgotten on her arm. “Why aren’t you at the party? Getting your rocks off by a redhead?”
My brows hitched. Then I noticed the glass in her hand. Gin, and by the smell of her breath, it wasn’t her first for the night.
“Now, it’s my turn to apologize.” She sighed. “You’re my student. I shouldn’t be talking to you about getting your rocks off.”
I chuckled. “I don’t mind.”
She removed her arm from my hold. “I do.”
Frustration surged through me. “Who told you I was in your class?”
