They sat in silence for a moment, and his fingers toyed with the hem of her sweatshirt. He enjoyed having his arms around her.
“So, I think this is what should happen. We will spend the next few months of your obligations getting to know each other long distance,” he said.
“I probably won’t be back until December or January,” she said.
“That’s okay. It’s a perfect time to talk.”
“Sounds like a plan. No pressure. Just getting to know each other.”
“Exactly,” he said.
And because he knew he wouldn’t have the opportunity after she left in the morning, he leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers. It would have to be enough to last him until he saw her again.
