CHAPTER11
Isaac led Michael out of the tunnel and into the library, only to be met with a slow round of applause.
“Finally,” Callum said, smirking at them both. “We thought you’d got lost.”
Isaac ignored his second in command. “Alice, can you get someone to show our guests to their rooms on the first floor again?”
“Yes, Alpha.”
“Why don’t we meet in the kitchen in about thirty minutes? I expect everyone would like at least a shower and a change of clothes before we start, right?”
Logan went to protest, but Isaac beat him to it. “While you do that, I’ll try and get some information about your parents’ whereabouts, okay?”
“Yeah, okay. Thanks.”
Alice led everyone out and up the stairs. When Michael went to follow, Isaac caught his hand, keeping him back.
“I thought you could stay with me,” he offered at Michael’s raised eyebrows.
“What happened to taking it slow?”
Isaac laughed. “Fuck that.” He might have said that with the best of intentions at the time, but they could both die in the next few weeks. Who the fuck wanted slow when they had no idea how much time they might have together?
If Michael broke his heart when this was all over, Isaac would deal with it then. Life was for living, and right now that meant being with Michael for as long as possible.
Michael’s answering smile was so wide, it made his eyes crinkle, and Isaac grinned.
“I take it that means you have no objections to that idea?”
“None.” Michael threaded his fingers with Isaac’s. “I think it might be the best one you’ve ever had.”
Isaac laughed, then tugged Michael with him towards the bottom of the stairs. “You might want to rethink that, as I’ve got plenty more where that came from.”
He took the stairs two at a time, pulling Michael after him, his laughter loud and uninhibited, and it was such a welcome sound after the last few days that Isaac could’ve howled in delight.
“We only have thirty minutes,” Michael reminded as Isaac slammed the door behind them and pressed him against it. “And I really need a shower, as you can probably smell.” He wrinkled his nose and gave Isaac a half-hearted shove when he nuzzled his neck.
“You’d better get these off and get in the shower, then.” He tugged at Michael’s T-shirt, lifting it over his head when Michael raised his arms. Next went his sweatpants, pooling at his feet, revealing his lack of underwear.
Isaac took Michael’s hardening cock in his hand and gave it a couple of leisurely strokes, licking his lips.
“If you keep looking at me like that, we won’t make it to the shower.”
Isaac kissed his way up Michael’s neck, along his jaw, placing one last kiss on his mouth before stepping back and pulling off his own T-shirt. “And we can’t have that, because you smell like about five other shifters right now.” He growled low in his chest, nipping the base of Michael’s throat. “I want my scent all over you.”
Michael pushed him backwards, his lips curled up in a snarl, but his eyes darkened, so full of heat Isaac shivered. “Move,” he whispered, grabbing Isaac’s jeans and flicking the button undone. “And get these off.”
Isaac shoved his jeans down and stepped out of them, kicking them to one side as he walked backwards towards the bathroom, not taking his eyes off Michael.
Doing this once already had cracked open his heart, letting out all the feelings he’d buried there. Doing it again would make it impossible to push them back in again, but Isaac didn’t care.
He’d never wanted anyone the way he wanted Michael. Never felt his body come alive the way it did under Michael’s touch.
Even the way he looked at him—all heat and raw desire—set his blood racing through his veins like lava, every nerve ending tingling with anticipation.
Like he was looking at him right then.
Isaac’s shower was easily big enough for the two of them, a fact he was extremely grateful for as he turned on the water and pulled Michael under the spray.
