“Good.” Her eyes softened slightly, “Not that Havoc wouldn’t look after you and the baby, one look at you two together and I can already tell he’s crazy about you. So if you aren’t in that type of trouble what is it? I raised that boy, if he’s in trouble because of something you have done I need to know.”
“It’s not because of anything I’ve done... I was just caught up in it and…”
She made a sound of disgust in the back of her throat. “Lucas then? What the hell has he done now? He always was too much like his dad.”
“He…” I searched my brain for the right words. Her name might be Mayhem Maggie but she was still Havoc’s grandma. “He misplaced some money for someone...”
“Don’t finish that sentence girl, I get it. Do you know where this money is?”
“No, I had no clue until someone attacked him. If it wasn’t for Havoc then they would have attacked me as well.” I didn’t tell her about being pawed at by the suit-wearing man in the middle of the car park or what might have happened if Havoc hadn’t come along. She didn’t need to know that.
“He always had a hero complex that boy,” Maggie said softly. Her voice was full of nostalgia. “You have feelings for him as well?” Her eyes searched my face knowingly but she didn’t let me answer. “I can see you do. And I can see it scares you. Why would falling in love scare you? Havoc is a good man.”
I couldn’t argue with that but I didn’t have an answer for her either. Clearing my throat I changed the subject. “Why do you call him Havoc and not Liam?” I asked.”Or do you only call him Liam when he is in trouble? Like my mum calls me by my full name when I've done something she doesn't agree with.”
I had been wondering that since we had first pulled up. It seemed strange for his grandmother to call him by his road name.
“I grew up in the club Darcie. Plus have you seen him, he causes havoc everywhere he goes. The name suits him much better than Liam does.”
“You grew up in the Savage Sons?”
She nodded. “My father, my brothers, my husband and my son and grandson have all patched in. If Havoc needs to do something that could leave you in danger it makes sense for him to bring you to me. I’m an old woman but I still have standing in the club, he knows that any woman that’s important to him would be important to me. He will play it off as nothing but I’ve known that man his entire life. He plans on keeping you around Darcie. So you might as well get used to being part of this family because that’s what you are now.”

“So what are you two lovely ladies doing?”
I turned, knife still in my hand and smiled at him. I seemed to be doing that a lot. Smiling. But that’s just how he made me feel.
Around him I was happy. Even with everything going on,
“Cooking.” I motioned around the room with my knife as he took his seat. He looked relaxed and happy, his damp hair falling over his forehead. “Maggie said it was your favourite?”
“I could get used to this, being waited on by two gorgeous women. Having them cook for me... Oi.” He ducked as a potato bounced off of his head, he ducked before the second one could make contact. “What was that for?”
“You.” Maggie wagged a finger at him. “This girl isn’t your slave Havoc, I dragged you up better than that.”
“Yes ma’am.” He ducked his head but couldn’t quite hide the smile on his lips. “You did.”
“Good, because I find out you have been treating her wrong...”
“I know Maggie, you will whoop my ass.”
He rolled his eyes as she narrowed hers threateningly. I loved watching them together. The easy way they interacted.
“Can I steal her away for a little while? For just a few minutes?”
“Is that all you need? She is gonna dump your ass Havoc.” Maggie laughed at her own joke.
“I want to show her around, it’s a beautiful night…” he stammered. “Jesus Maggie, will you stop making innuendos about my sex life. I just want…”
“A romantic stroll? I get it. I do. Why not take her up to the bluff? The view is all you need to get her out of her panties. I’ll leave you your food in the microwave and make up your old room. You kids have fun.”
Chapter Twenty
Havoc
“This was my favourite place as a kid.” I don’t know what made me say the words, they just spilt from my mouth. Darcie had a habit of doing that, making me say things I never normally would. “I used to come up here a lot.” Sighing I sat on the large flat rock that looked out of the cliff, my hand still firmly clutching hers.
