“You’re amazing,” I said, the words rushing out. “You’re sweet, and strong, and I really love the way you and Casey take care of each other, and how you are with me.” I bit down on my lip anxiously, not sure if that had been too much. “You’re perfect, Blake. And I’m here to talk anytime you want, too.”

Blake reached out, then rewarded me by brushing his lips over mine. “You know I feel the same about you.”

I held his eye, then nodded. “Yeah,” I said, “I do.” Because I didn’t realize it until that moment, but I didn’t have any more doubt that Blake cared about me and that Casey did, too. The insecurities had faded, and now I just knew I wanted them.

I just knew the three of us were supposed to be together, simple as that.

Blake and I stared at each other. He did that thing where his eyes burned into mine, like he was seeing into my thoughts, and my skin tingled with the intensity of it as I stood there, meeting his gaze. It was wordless and smoldering, and somehow, it said everything that needed to be said.

“We’ll talk tomorrow,” he said. “You, me, and Casey. We’ll figure out how to make this thing last. Okay?”

My heart jumped. He said it with so much confidence, like he just hit a switch and suddenly, the idea that we’d be something more was right there in the open. “Yeah,” I said with a weak smile. “We’ll figure out how to make it last.”

Blake’s face relaxed into a satisfied smile. Then he kissed me once more and turned to the fridge. I sat there at the counter with a goofy grin on my face, slowly processing what we’d just decided.

“Tomorrow morning,” I said, blurting out the idea as it came to me. “I’ll make breakfast.”

“Breakfast?”

“Casey will sleep in, since he worked late. It means I’ll have a chance to cook for him for once, and then, we can talk.” I leaned forward on the counter, then laughed to myself. “I don’t want to wait,” I admitted. “I want to tell him how I feel.”

“How we feel,” Blake said. He placed his hand on my cheek and rubbed his thumb in a gentle circle. “And breakfast sounds great.”

“How we feel,” I agreed, and my heart soared with the words.
