“What? Are y’all sure?” I asked him.
“Hell yeah.” every man in the room uttered in unison.
“Well, who is that in the basement?” I asked them.
“Let’s see.” Tony said as he headed to the kitchen.
I wanted to know who the dude was more than anybody, but I wasn’t crazy. I let all of those niggas go ahead of me. I walked to the basement’s door and watched them from there. Jared and Tony were the first two to make it down the steps. They both rolled over the robber’s body and took off his ski mask.
“What the fuck?” Steve spat.
“What?” I asked.
“I can’t believe this shit.”
“What?” I was anxious to know.
“This that nigga Lucky!” Jared announced.
“Oh my God.” I mumbled. I never saw that coming. Had times gotten that hard for him?
I felt someone approaching me from behind. Before I could turn around they grabbed me. “What the fuck are they looking at?” Jahrein asked startling me.
“Nigga don’t just walk up on me like that.” I sighed.
He peered over my shoulders. “Who is that?” he shouted out to his boys.
“Main, you aint gon believe it…It’s Lucky’s bitch ass.” Tony told him.
“No shit?!” Jahrein stood in disbelief. “You see how dirty niggas do me? I just fronted that nigga some work and he still tried to fuck me.” Jahrein shook his head. “Baby, you did that nigga like that?” he asked me.
I nodded my head.
“You know they some sorry muthafuckas. All three of them couldn’t handle you.”
“God was with me. Those people were crazy. What kind of affect do you have on people? And you never mentioned that you got Shell pregnant before.”
“What? That crazy ass bitch told you that shit?”
“She sure did. Stop stalling. I asked you a question.” I told his ass.
“I mean, how do you expect me to answer something like that? I messed with her before but you knew that. And I put it on my kids that I never had unprotected sex with her. One time she let me and Jared run a train on her, and she started saying that she was pregnant. He went up in her raw, so he begged me to convince her to get an abortion. He even gave me the money to giveto her. She took it then started tripping, talking about she wanted me to be her boyfriend. She was cool, but what could I do with a slut that let all my boys hit? She was always agitating a nigga, so one day I snapped and slapped her ass. There was a crowd around, so people was mistaking that for some baby mama drama. Then she started saying that that baby was mine, since everybody was assuming it anyway. So, when she found out about you she went crazy. Then shit really got crazy when she started trying to be your friend.”
“So, you’re trying to tell me that Shell knew about us, before we even started hanging out?”
“Yeah, she did. Ciara had told everybody.”
“Yeah, right. So, why did she have so much animosity towards me?”
“Raven, I know that you aint that damn blind. She liked me. She starting hanging around you to be messy and got to see firsthand how I treated you. She noticed the difference. I never gave two shits about her ass. Hell, I passed her around and let all the homies smash. The fact that I loved you got to her. She would always ask me what did you have that she didn’t. I told her that you was just better than her. She would be pissed. So, that’s one of the reasons why I flipped out when I found out about you doing powder, especially with her. Shell loved the thought of you somehow being more on her level. She told everybody in the hood that you was a powder head. That’s why I got Melissa and Tyra to jump her ass. Who would have ever guessed that those two bitches would’ve become best friends after that?”
I couldn’t believe what was coming out of Jahrein’s mouth. Dirty bitches were always plotting on me. Did I have at least one true friend?
