Damn. That sucked.

Sawyer growled, “It’s in the safe deposit box with the rest of my inheritance, but Demi—”

“Oh, perfect, let’s go to the bank and get it.” She grabbed her car keys from the counter and shook them.

It was very clear that what Demi wanted, Demi got.

“Fine, but this doesn’t mean we’re going with them. We have a son and this is a suicide mission,” Sawyer told his wife.

She nodded absentmindedly, but I knew that if she did decide to go with us, nothing would stop her.

It wasa short drive to Werewolf City, where Demi parked her SUV downtown at Hudson Bank.

“Bank has your last name on it. Coincidence?” I asked Sawyer.

“Nope.” Demi popped the P and I chuckled.

What did it feel like to be that rich? I would certainly never know. Maz stole all of my money, and I was sure there was some royal prenup I would be asked to sign before our wedding day. As long as I had a roof over my head and food in my belly, I was happy to sign whatever was needed.

A female bank teller leapt from behind her desk to greet the alphas as we stepped inside. “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Hudson!”

Sawyer nodded his head to her. “Hi, Stacy, I’ll need access to my safe deposit box.”

She bobbed her head up and down and then scurried off to grab some keys from a drawer. When she returned, we followed her to the back of the room, where a solid steel vault door stood. “Finger.” She indicated that Sawyer touch the keypad to the right of the door. He placed his thumb on it and then she inserted a key next to it. There was a beep, and then a hiss as the door opened.

When it did, my jaw dropped. The entire room was filled with papers, old leatherbound books, jewelry, bars of gold, and stacks of silver coins.

“Wait, this entire room is your safe deposit box?” Demi asked. She must have never been here.

Sawyer blushed a bit. “Yeah.”

His wife snickered. “You’re stupid rich.”

The alpha shrugged. “Well, you’re married to me, so you’re stupid rich too.”

She spit her tongue out at him and grinned. “I’m going to get that on a shirt,” she said.

Stacy left us, and our little group stepped into the room.

“Holy crap, a tiara!” Demi grabbed the diamond studded piece. It was breathtaking. There was a giant ruby in the center of the crown that matched my engagement ring.

“Gift to my great grandmother on her wedding night,” Sawyer told his wife. Demi placed it on her head as the men stepped deeper into the room to look at the old papers.

Demi and I gawked at the jewelry. “This would look amazing with your red hair. Try it on,” Demi said, pulling the tiara off and placing it on me.

I laughed, feeling giddy at the weight of the crown on my head.

“Fit for a queen.” Luka glanced at me and I suddenly felt shy. Reaching up, I took it off and set it back in its case. Demi squealed when she saw a set of baby blue aquamarine earrings. “OhmyGawd, Sawyer, Ineedthese.” She pulled the backs off and tried them on.

I burst into laughter at her excitement. Sawyer just gave his wife an endearing look. “Then they are yours, my love.”

“Your mom won’t care?” she asked tentatively, fingers twitching over the gems that now glittered on her lobes.

He shook his head. “She has her own vault. This is all the stuff they left for me and my future heirs and wife.”

Demi’s eyes bugged, then she looked over at me. “Stupid rich,” she mouthed, causing me to grin.
