Tossing my top to one side, she spends a couple of minutes studying my chest. I’m not sure if it’s the years of work I’ve put in at the gym that she’s appreciating or the way I shudder as her fingernails trace lines across my pecs and then down to my abs.

Her eyes pause on my gold compass, and in the warm lighting of the room, her lips shimmer when she swipes a quick tongue across her bottom lip.

“Have you ever thought about getting a tattoo?” Drew’s question comes straight out of left field, especially after what I just said.

Knowing this girl, I’m sure she’s digesting my words and thinking everything over.

“No.”

She cocks her head to one side, curious. “Why not? Most hockey players have at least one, don’t they?”

I pause for a moment before answering, “I guess I’ve never really felt strongly enough to get one done. I thought about inking my sister’s handprint at one point. After we were born, Mom and Dad hand our handprints taken, and that felt like a cool idea, but …”

“But what?”

I lean back a little so I can take Drew in more carefully. “But I’ve always felt like a tattoo should be something wecan’t ordinarily see with our eyes. It should represent a feeling, memory, or someone special. That one person or moment we could never let go of.” I quirk a brow at her. “Why don’t you have any tattoos? Most publicists have them, right?”

She chuckles softly and takes my compass between her fingers. “I think this might be the one time where we’re similar. I’ve always wanted a tattoo, but I could never think of what to get.”

“How about a picture of my face on your left ass cheek?”

She swats me in the chest, and I catch her hand in mine, sucking her middle finger into my mouth.

As we maintain eye contact, her jaw pops open, and it’s one of the hottest moments of my life. Deeply intimate yet so freaking simple.

So much of me wants to peel her out of these clothes and take her on the couch right now. I fucking love sex, and sleeping with Drew is like nothing else.

But moving to the next base would also mean breaking the spell that’s keeping our attention locked on each other, and if I could exist like this forever, then I would.

I’ve never been in love with a girl before, not even close. I’m falling for the beauty perched in my lap though. I know it.

“I guess we should get some sleep.” Drew breaks the silence too soon for my liking.

“Do your thing, Baby,” I instruct, hauling her into my arms and standing.

She wraps her legs around my waist, and I walk us toward the closet Marley pointed out earlier.

As I hold her steady, Drew pulls out what we need, and we return to the living room before I set her back down on the couch and cover her with a blanket.

“Cuddle with me tonight?” I ask her like a fucking teenager.

She shuffles back as I join her on the couch and slide a couple of pillows beneath our heads.

“Are you scared of the dark, Will?” she mocks in a small voice.

I roll on top of her and bracket her in with my forearms. “If I said yes, would you cuddle me all night? I promise to be a gentleman. Unlike the last time.”

Drew’s lips twist in thought, but all I can sense is her happiness, and that does things to me. Good things.

“I could probably tolerate cuddling you for one night.”

I drop my lips and kiss the end of her nose, letting her scent pull me deeper. “Let’s get some rest. I havebigplans for us tomorrow.”
