“I do too.” Brinley jumps onto the counter next to several grocery bags.

I glance over at Declan and stifle a laugh. He shrugs before turning back to them.

“The shift in our relationship started on Halloween,” I begin.

“Ember was practically throwing herself at me.”

“Excuse me?”

“I’m with Em on this one. You made me drag her to that party.” Brin crosses her arms. “She’s the whole reasonyouthrew the party.”

“Is that right?” I tease.

“Do you guys want the story or not?”

“Is this an intervention?” I turn to see Jaxon and Jeremy; both have their hands full with grocery bags.

“Are we here to talk about Zeke’s sex addiction?” Jaxon continues.

“At least I’m having sex,” Zeke replies.

Jaxon flips him the bird, even though it’s hard to see under the groceries, at the same time as Jeremy says, “Seriously, what’s going on? It looks like a house meeting, but with barely anyone who actually lives here.”

“No intervention or meeting. But these two are boning.” Zeke points between us.

I shake my head because I know Zeke didn’t miss the part about us not actually having sex.

“No shit.” Jeremy crosses his arms.

“Fuck you, Harris.” Jaxon takes a fifty out of his wallet and slaps it into Zeke’s hand.

“Thank you.” He slides it into his pocket.

“You guys bet on us?” Declan asks, looking at me and then back to the guys.

“I told Zeke that you wouldn’t jump each other’s bones until the project was finished.” Jaxon sighs. “Like maybe a summer fling.”

“And I said this would happen before the end of November. Speaking of, did you invite your girl to Thanksgiving?”

I like the way that sounds… me beinghis girl.

“Thanksgiving? Don’t you guys go home?”

“We do a Thanksgiving here before we all go home. We’re doing it next Tuesday,” he says, touching my leg. “I was gonna ask you earlier before we were rudely interrupted.”

“I’d like that.” I grin as he stands up and presses a kiss against my head.

“But before that, I think it’s time for me to take you on a date,” he whispers against my ear. “You think you can handle that without jumping my bones, Bowman?”

I push him off me and see that all eyes are on us.

“Can we please get back to this story?” Zeke points at his phone.

“Fine,” I respond. “But if this ends up anywhere, I will kill you. Cam doesn’t know, and we’re gonna try to keep it like that until… well, until I think he won’t kill Declan.”

“Got it,” he says, but I’m not entirely convinced.

“I mean it, Zeke.” I glare at him. “If this ends up anywhere… well, all I can say is good luck having sex without a penis.”
