“Same, but I know you didn’t call us here to announce your new relationship status, especially with not just us,” Tech said as he leaned forward.
“You’re right.” I stood behind Munch’s chair and lightly rubbed the back of her neck.
She wore her hair in a puff at the top of her head, so her whole neck was exposed, and I was obsessed with it just like the taste of her pussy. I had to shake those thoughts off before I got too distracted.
“I asked y’all here because I trust y’all with my life, and I need that trust to extend to Munch. But that’s not all. It has been brought to my attention that we have a real snake in the Vipers, and they did some shit that can’t go unpunished.” I looked at all of them to gauge their reaction. Nobody looked suspicious, but I didn’t expect them to anyway. I truly believed everyone in the room was innocent.
“Who? I know you not saying it’s anyone in here.” Rico leaned forward and rested his arms on the table.
“Hell no. Y’all the only ones that could know this information and the ones that could help fix the problem.”
Rico leaned back and relaxed. I didn’t think his reaction was because he was on some bullshit. I was sure it was because he hadn’t or wouldn’t do any shady shit, so he might have felt offended that I was accusing him or any of them.
“So what happened?” Lamont asked.
“Beast is a snake. He killed my father because he wanted to take over, and he killed Slim because he found out the truth. He also been working with the Disciples to try and take over.”
Everyone wore shocked expressions, and I felt the same way at first. When I thought about his actions lately, I didn’t put any of the shit past him. After I sat with the information, I remembered he was the last person to see my father alive, but I honestly thought maybe they had separated and that was when my father got killed. I never thought it would be him. I honestly still didn’t want to believe it, and that was why I had to move smartly. He was going to admit to it before he took his last breath.
“Damn. So what are going to do about it?” Tech asked.
“I got a plan.”
I’d been on edge since Kane and I informed everyone about what Beast had done. I couldn’t wait for it to be over, because I was tired of feeling like I had to look over my shoulder. Tech wasn’t able to find out who tried to run me off the road, but Kane was convinced that Beast had something to do with it. I thought the same thing. Maybe he figured since my brother knew about his secrets, I must have too.
Kane came up with a good plan, but we had to be smart and take our time with it. He wanted to make sure nothing came back on him or anyone in the club. I knew and understood that Kane wanted answers before it was all said and done. I didn’t think there was a good reason for Beast to move the way he did. It was all so strange to me.
Since we had to wait things out, we all went on with our normal activities. I worked at the clubhouse while Kane worked at the tattoo shop. The guys went to do whatever they did, but there was always at least one of them at the clubhouse. Tay had been the latest one to hang out with me, but he went in the back with Isis. I was comfortable knowing he was nearby.
I hadn’t hung out with Candace in a while, so she came by the clubhouse since she was off from work.
“So this is where you be all day?” she asked as she glanced around the room.
I served her a fruity concoction I had been working on. I wanted her to be the taste tester before I presented it to Kane to see if we could add it to the small menu.
“Yup. I like it here. I don’t see myself working here for the rest of my life, but it’s been cool. Most of the people are nice to me, except some of the women.”
Things had died down since they saw I wasn’t going anywhere and that Kane didn’t pay them any attention. A few of them even started being nicer to me. The shit was fake though. They knew they either had to be nicer or they would get banned from the clubhouse, and they didn’t want that. They couldn’t get Kane, but they still tried to get some of the other guys.
“Speaking of.” I glanced toward the door when Drizzle and one of her friends entered.
“We need to fight?” Candace started to take her earring off, but I stopped her.
“Girl, no. I already busted her nose. She knows not to start shit with me.”
I looked up, and they were headed toward the bar. I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes. As long as she came at me with some sense, then we were good.
“Hey, Raina.”
“What can I get you?”
She didn’t have to speak to me like we were friends, because we were far from that. I could be cordial though, because whether I was fucking the boss or not, this was my job.
She looked toward Candace, then back at me. “I’ll have what she’s having.”
“It ain’t on the menu.”
“But it looks good. Listen, I don’t want to fight with you. It’s obvious you aren’t going anywhere, and that’s fine. We have to work together sometimes, so I just want us to be cool. Kane seems to be happier that you are around, and I’m not trying to lose this job.”
