“Be sure that you do,” she said, tipping her drink towards me before taking another sip.

A little bell rang as the first course arrived in the dumbwaiter. I reached over and brought the tray of food in front of Ivy and me, lifting the lid to reveal a plate full of delicious appetizers. The savory fragrance from each selection filled the booth, making my mouth water.

“This looks delicious!” She leaned forward and smelled everything on the tray. “What should we try first?”

“How about this?” I picked up a piece of calamari and held it out for her. She closed her eyes and opened her mouth, allowing me to gently place it on her tongue. Perfect, I’d wanted to feed her for so long now; I was growing tired of sitting and watching Preston feed her during lunch in my office.

“Mmm,” she moaned with a smile. “So tender and soft.” She picked up a spring roll and held it out for me.

A smile spread across my face as I held her wrist and took a bite, eliciting a sweet giggle from her.

The night proceeded onward with us alternating between playfully feeding each other and indulging in kisses. Her sensual playfulness with me was everything I could ever want in a woman, and her demeanor and poise were so perfect; I couldn’t stop myself from running my fingers up and down her long, elegant neckline.

I knew she was my mate. I knew we were scent-matched. I knew she was perfect for me physically, but the reality of falling in love with her hit me hard.

I was in love with her. She was my everything, and I’d do anything for her. I wanted to give her the world, take all her troubles away, and pleasure her every moment she needed it.

These feelings were becoming rapidly clear as I talked with her between courses, and I wasn’t sure how to express myself.

What if she didn’t return them? Had I truly trapped her in this pack?

I decided to stay quiet and cherish my time with her every chance I had—at least she seemed to be happy with me.

The dessert tray arrived with a ding of the bell. I brought the tray over and set it before us as Ivy gushed over the mini desserts.

“Looks like you have a sweet tooth,” I smiled as her eyes gazed at the tiny chocolate cakes. “Open wide!”

As soon as the cake touched her tongue, another soft moan escaped from her as she closed her eyes and savored the bite. “So good!”

My senses heightened as she picked up a strawberry and dipped it in whipped cream. I reached forward to hold her hand, then slowly licked the whipped cream off while locking my gaze onto hers. Her breathing became heavier as she licked her lips, watching me finish eating the strawberry.

“Would you also like a strawberry?” I asked teasingly, reaching for the plate.

“Just the whipped cream, please.” She winked at me, eyeing my finger as a mischievous little grin spread across her face.

With a soft chuckle, I dipped my finger into the whipped cream and held it out for her. Slowly, she ran her tongue up and around my finger, sending a shiver down my spine. My own breathing was growing heavier, watching her gently lick as her eyes captured mine. Her scent grew stronger, pulling mine right along with it.

She took my whole finger in her mouth, letting her tongue dance as she sucked off the remaining whipped cream. The heat between us escalated as my eyes narrowed in on her. Leaning forward, I gently kissed the side of her neck.

She was so bold and unafraid of me. Every second with her tested my control—but I never wanted her to stop. God, this woman…

Clearing my throat, I sat back up and looked at the tray. “What would you like next?”

She glanced around at the tray of food before looking back at me. “Actually, can we box the remaining up? I have a different dessert in mind now.”

I silently nodded at her request, sending the tray of food back down and paying the bill. As we waited for the food to be boxed up, she reached for my head and pulled my lips down to hers. So sweet…

Ding! A box of food returned through the dumbwaiter.

I cleared my throat as I broke our kiss, reaching for the box of leftovers.

“Ready to go?” I asked, opening the door for her as we stepped out of our private dining booth.

We made our way outside and back into the car as my head still spun from what her tongue did to my finger. I couldn’t stop my mind from picturing what that tongue could do to the rest of me. I felt a slight stickiness on my finger—normally, that would bother me, but I didn’t care because Ivy licked that finger.

We both buckled in, and I started the car, driving very briefly around the parking lot before pulling the car over towards the back of the restaurant.

“Give me a second, I need to calm down and refocus here.” Taking a deep breath in, I started to recenter myself and regain control. In and out, I felt my center come back to me. I wasn’t one to lose control; I’d always stayed focused and calm. I was usually the voice of reason. After a brief moment, my head cleared—that felt better.
