Ivy laughed softly at me. “That’s why we’re not going full out.”

“That’s exactly why you should go full out…though maybe we’ll rehearse this piece at home from now on,” I snarked back, wiping the sweat off my brow. “I guess I’ll have to commit to this process till you both get it right.”

Chapter twenty-five

Date Night

Demetrius

Thursday night finally arrived after a long day of work, but I didn’t care about any work frustrations anymore. Ivy was looking stunning, and we were going out on a date. I couldn’t seem to keep my hand off her thigh as she sat next to me in the car. Luckily, she smiled at me approvingly.

We pulled up in front of the restaurant as the valet opened the door for me, allowing me to help Ivy out of the car. I handed off the keys and escorted Ivy forward towards the restaurant, where an awning decorated with fairy lights and rows of shrubs led us to a beautiful, upscale cabin-like building. Inside, I approached the receptionist, feeling pretty confident with my stunning mate by my side. She was wearing a tight, little black dress and stunning, black stilettos that highlighted those beautiful, long legs of hers.

“Reservation for Demetrius Ivan,” I said to the hostess as Ivy gave my arm a little squeeze. There was something thrilling about spoiling my mate. I wanted to make her feel so special and taken care of.

The hostess led us past a few hallways full of private booths until pausing at one. She slid the private booth door open, allowing Ivy to slip in with me right behind her, then closed the door as we sat down, creating a little private space just for us.

“Is this restaurant for omega pairings?” Ivy asked as we settled into our booth.

“This half of the restaurant is, but the other half is for normal couples,” I replied, handing her a menu and scooting closer to her. Ivy’s beautiful rosewater and white chocolate scent slowly permeated the air, dancing around my nose. I brushed my fingers against her skin, enjoying the softness of her arm. The ventilation in the booth was running, so keeping our impulses in check wouldn’t be a problem tonight.

“This place serves mostly bite-sized finger foods. We place our order here,” I said, gesturing to the small kiosk on our table. “The food is delivered to us via these dumbwaiters. We shouldn’t see anybody at all if we don’t want to.”

“That’s really clever. Oh, I’m going to like the first course!” She excitedly pointed to the options.

“Let’s get it ordered then.” I tapped on a few buttons, and quickly enough, the first course was submitted.

After the drinks arrived, Ivy relaxed into my arm and gently rubbed my chest. The sensation was so soothing, exactly what I needed to relax after a stressful day, andbefore I knew it, a soft purr escaped from me. Her instincts for providing for my needs were always so fascinating to me.

“So, Miss Turin,” I said with a playful tone. “How has your time been at Arco Ballet Company?”

She chuckled slightly, sitting up and straightening her posture in a professional manner. “Oh, I see, this dinner is really an HR interview with the boss. Well, sir, I have to say it’s been quite an unusual start to the season…”

“Go on.”

“My very first time meeting the Artistic Director, he was so offended by my smell, he threw me out of the building,” Ivy jokingly shook her head with a sigh.

“That’s not quite what happened…”

“Then the next day, I get a call from him, and now I’m practically marrying him and his packmates…”

“That part is true…”

“Somehow he tricked me into living with them in their beautiful packhouse…”

“We were patient…” I whispered against her neck as my arm reached around her shoulder.

“And now the company dancers are accusing me of sleeping with the boss…”

“Well, they aren’t wrong…”

“There was that glass thing that happened, too.”

“Promptly resolved and the guilty party arrested,” I replied.

“Overall, I’d give it a ten, would recommend to friends and families.” Ivy shrugged before taking a sip of her drink.

My chest reverberated with laughter as I twirled a lock of her hair. “I see. Thank you for providing your feedback to us. I’ll look into your comments further and see where we can improve our organization.”
