“Ginata, I’m not really interested in you like that.”
She laughed. “Not me, silly. We’re exclusive. It’s not an invite. I was just asking to be friendly. You, my new friend, need to loosen up.”
Prue brought me my drink, and Ginata insisted I start drinking. I was not a fan of blood mixed with alcohol, but I drank itanyway. She repeated her question, and I shook my head.
“No. Just one on one.”
“Please don’t tell me it’s only been, Desiderio.” She grimaced, her nose scrunching and her tongue flapping out as if she had tasted poison. “That you’ve been saving yourself for thirty years.”
“No, there’s been others. Just not in groups.” I glanced at her partners and felt suddenly like a giant asshole. “No offense. I’m not judging. It’s just never been my thing.”
“Well, it should be,” she said firmly, reaching for the newest drink Prue had brought her. She had been here maybe an hour and had already consumed four cocktails. She was drunk. “And it will be soon, I’m sure. You can not tell me there’s not one vampire here that hasn’t caught your eye?”
My eyes flicked to the bar before I could stop myself, and she saw it. Her face lit up as if I had just handed her a puppy. “A coworker? There’s been lots of flirting, I bet.” She winked at me. Normally, it would have made my stomach sour, but I smiled and laughed along with her.
“Some. Okay, a lot,” I blurted. I realized that this must be the effect of the happy pills everyone took here. Honestly, it wasn’t a terrible feeling. “He is really cute.”
“What’s his name?” she asked, putting her elbows on the table and resting her face in her palms.
“Landon. He’s got pretty eyes,” I revealed.
“I really do like Bloodsheds more than Bloodborns, if I’m being honest,” she confessed. “They’re more grateful to be here. And you’ll find that they are also very hungry to please.” Her gaze flicked to her partners, but if they heard her, they didn’t acknowledge it. They were speaking low amongst themselves.
“You should sleep with him.” Ginata’s eyes lit up. “He’s huge. I bet his cock is just as impressive!”
“Don’t!” I gasped, reaching out to put my hand over her mouth. I pulled back as I realized how bold I was being with the highest-ranking person in this area.
With the Seven Sin of Gluttony.
She only laughed at my reaction, causing me to laugh as well. “He’ll hear you!” I hissed.
She shrugged. “Good. Maybe it’ll cause one of you to make a move. I’m sure he’s just been dying to give you a go. Just go for it. No one cares here.” She waved her hand dismissively at my worries.
As the night went on, I was fed more happy pills and drinks, as was she. I felt beyond elated, and I was disappointed when Prue came over to tell us that the sun would be up in two hours.
When we climbed out of the booth, I saw that all the other patrons were gone.
Ginata hugged me tightly before she left with her crew. “Please, for me, try him out. In fact, try the entire lifestyle out. Don’t be afraid to sample more than one person if you get invited. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.”
“I really don’t know if it’s for me.” I protested one more time, but now, I wasn’t entirely confident in my answer. She had spent the entire night selling me on multiple men. Would it be that bad to try it?
Ginata kissed me on the lips quickly before leaving, and I stood there, dumbstruck for a long moment. Had that entire night seriously happened?
“I hate you.” Prue came over, looping her arm through mine and dragging me to the changing rooms. “You got to spend a whole night with Ginata and her gorgeous men. Tell me everything.”
I tried my best to regale her with stories from my night, but most of them were centered around Ginata trying to get me to sleep with Landon. I didn’t need that getting back to him. We still had to work together.
“Are you going to fuck Landon now?” Prue asked suddenly as we walked out the door. I stopped short and turned.
“What?”
“That’s why she came, wasn’t it? To get you to stop being such a prude. That’s what everyone was saying all night.”
I sighed and kept walking. “No, not necessarily,” I lied. “We talked about other stuff.”
Prue sighed and then stopped in the parking lot. She pulled out her cell phone. “I can’t give you a ride home. My guys need me home right after work.”
“What? Why didn’t you say something before?” My mouth fell open, and I looked around the lot. “How am I supposed to get home?”
