He linked our fingers together and then gave them a squeeze before pulling me over to the table where the papers sat. I took the pen, took a deep breath and then signed my name, handing him the pen to do the same.

There was no officiant to have us take our vows or to claim us as married, but we were.

“I promise to make each day better than the last one,” he told me, turning to face me.

“I promise to make the workload just a tad smaller for you.”

“I promise,” he started, cupping my cheek and bringing me in for a kiss, “to dance in the rain with you.”

“Until we get sick?” I twisted my lip and then peeked over his shoulder. “How about dancing under a bright full moon with me, husband?”

“Oh, I like that, wife.”

He grabbed me around the waist, grabbed his phone, and then ushered me outside, making me laugh the whole time and making me feel like this was just perfect for us.

You know how things happen that you didn’t know you were wishing for until it happens?

Yeah, that’s what this was.

I had never thought about dancing under a full moon, never thought it was something that was mandatory in my life.

But here, with the soft songs on, my wife in my arms, and the moon shining down on us, yeah, it was for sure something that I would forever crave.

And something that I would make sure we did from here on out, because it was sensual, romantic, sweet, fun, and just so damn fucking perfect.

She was perfect.

“What are you thinking about?” she asked as she wrapped her arms tighter around my neck while we swayed to the beat.

“Just how I needed this and I didn’t know I did.”

“I tell you, husband, I come up with some of the best ideas.”

I shivered at the word falling from her lips.

That’s another thing. I thought I would hate pet names like that, but I don’t. In fact, I rather love it. And coming from her was that much better. Like it’s really a stamp she put on me, and I have no will or need to wipe it off of me.

“You do, wife, and I look forward to seeing what more you could come up with.”

“Is that just as nice to hear as it is to say?”

I rested my head on hers as I thought about her question. The answer was yes; it really was.

“Did you not think about what you would call me when we got married?” I asked her, rubbing her back as we danced.

“Not really. But I have to admit, husband and wife work really well. I’m not a huge pet name type of person, never have been. But I like the term ‘wife’. It really does sound like you laid a claim and no one is even allowed to look at me.”

“They better fucking not,” I growled, making her laugh.

She tilted her head back to look at me and the light shining down on her made her glow with a whole other cause. I mean, she had been glowing for days, even more so after our love making, but this, this was so much more than that.

She was happy, content, pleased, and those were all so important to me. She was also beautiful and so enchanting right now.

“You’re so beautiful,” I told her, pushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

“You’re just saying that to get me into bed later. Don’t tell my husband though, he might kill you.”

“Is that so?”
