“Jett.” Brennan hugged me tightly.
“Hi, Honey. You asked for me?” I kissed him, happy to be with him, finally. I hadn’t seen him since the hospital.
His look went sheepish. “I asked for something to eat. The mini fridge has water and soda but no food.”
“Got it. She’s a vampire, and because I’m a beta, she thinks I’m your dinner. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that movie.” I grinned. “Oh, maybe she wasn't a vampire? But I would think vampires would look like her. She’s not human, I’m sure.” That was what just happened, right?
Brennan thought for a moment. “I agree with that. Grace said there are lots of different people out there.”
“Good thing I have actual snacks.” I took them out of my pocket.
“Thank you. How did you get them?” He held one up to read the label.
“I was in the lactation room. It could be worse.” I plopped down on the couch. “What is going on? Have they told you anything?”
“They’ve told me a lot, and this is wild. I’m worried about Grace.” His brows furrowed as he ate a package of dried fruit.
With a sigh, he sat on the couch with me. He filled me in on how Rosalind was very much alive and part of a group of people across multiple worlds that were selling information and equipment to anyone who wanted it.
“That was what they stole from the vault? Inter-dimensional information?” I asked.
“Yes.”
“Shit. What are they going to do with Grace’s brothers and Rosalind? Us?” I went to the mini fridge and got some water.
“I think we’ll be okay.” His look went pensive. “Her brothers and Rosalind? I’m guessing the same thing will happen to them that happened to Nick.”
“Do you think we can punch Rosalind?” My fists thirsted for justice.
Brennan laughed. “Wes and Grace already did. Apparently, Grace got her right in the tits.”
Pride welled up inside me. “That’s my Babydoll.”
As he ate the rest of the snacks, Brennan told me everything he knew.
Finally, the door opened.
“Here’s some sustenance for the snack. Can we bring you the precious? She needs her leader.” Vampire lady came in and put three sandwiches and a cup of what could be coffee on the table.
“Thank you. Yes, you can bring Grace here. What of the others? Can you bring them here, as well?” Brennan asked.
The precious? But she was. I grabbed a sandwich and started eating.
“The big precious and the child are with the wellbeing assessor. Your child is quite rare. She would make a good agent,” vampire lady added. “One of your brothers is being moved to be with them. The older one is with Agent Cora.”
Okay, Wes was with Evan and Riley. Spencer was being questioned still. Precious must mean omega?
“Riley is pretty special. We’d like to be all together as soon as possible,” he remarked.
“Understandable. Your people are well.” With a nod, she left.
I tossed Brennan one of the sandwiches and took a sip of coffee. “Want some?”
“Sure.” Brennan took a sip.
I eyed the other sandwich. No. We’d wait and see if Grace was hungry.
A few moments later, the door opened. There stood a woman in a dress with a tote bag. Grace was with her.
