Wes’s eyes lit up. “I’ve just realized you’re a source of embarrassing childhood stories about Seth,” he said. “You guys go sit with us, I’ll grab drinks. Iggy knows what Hayden looks like, he can introduce you.”

“I’m driving,” Harvey said.

“And I just took the last of the good painkillers,” I added.

“These guys do a great soft peach cider,” Wes said, looking between us, grinning broadly. “Sound good?”

“Sounds good,” I said, still processing Harvey’s arm around my waist. He was so warm, and he smelled so good. Whatwasthat? Woody and spicy and with just a hint of something floral, like lying down in the forest and breathing everything in.

“Perfect,” Wes said, already heading for the bar. “Go keep Hayden company for me while I’m gone.”

“Is the arm too much?” Harvey asked once Wes was out of earshot.

I shook my head. “No. No, that was the perfect touch. You think Liam saw it?”

“IknowLiam saw it,” Harvey said, turning to face me again. “Saw him looking at us out of the corner of my eye. Wanted to make it look good.”

Right, of course. That made sense.

Why else would he have done it?

“I think it looked good,” I said. “Mission accomplished.”

“Not quite,” Harvey said. “C’mere.”

The world stopped spinning as Harvey reached out to me, dragging one knuckle under my jaw and using it to tilt my chin up.

He was going to kiss me.

He wasgoing to kiss me, right here, in front of all these people.

What happened to my shy wallflower? When did he become Mr. Confidence?

Why was I trembling?

“Tell me no if this is too much,” he said, so close it was barely a whisper, the scent of his aftershave filling my nose all over again.

“I don’t think it’s too much,” I said, my mouth working without any input from my brain.

We shouldn’t have been doing this, not when I already wanted so much more. Not when Harvey was just being kind to me because he’d dropped me in an awkward situation.

But I couldn’t say no.

Harvey’s lips—the only thing in the whole goddamn world to me right now—curved into a familiar smile, one that I’d thought of asmysmile for years and years. The one he only ever showed to me.

“Good,” he murmured, brushing our noses together, so close now that his body was like a furnace, a wall of heat hovering inches away from me. Too close and too far all at once. “More fun this way.”

I barely stifled a whimper as Harvey’s mouth closed over mine, soft and gentle and more than a little sexy, the kind of kiss that saidthere’s more where that came fromand went straight to my dick.

More fun this way.

What the hell did that mean?

Harvey made a soft, satisfied grunt as he broke off, sticking close for a handful of heartbeats while the twinkling lights overhead spun around me.

“Take me to meet Hayden,” he said, still soft and low and intimate, like he was whispering all the filthy things he was going to do to me as soon as we got home.

It took me a second to realize what he’dactuallysaid.
