That had been worrying him more than he’d thought. Oscar had only offered him the weekend in the first place, and Ryan felt greedy for wanting more, but… it didn’t stop him, either. He wanted more of Oscar.
“For everything,” he added, sincethank youdidn’t quite seem to cover it.
“Hey, I’ve been having fun, too,” Oscar said. “It’d be a shame for it to all end so soon. You’re still here for another couple of weeks, right?”
“Right, yeah,” Ryan agreed. At least until his settlement came through. Then he’d betrulyfree.
Oscar squeezed his fingers. “Then I guess I’d better make the most of you,” he said.
Before Ryan could think of a response to that, Oscar leaned forward and kissed him again. The sweetness and softness was still there, but this time there was hunger in it, too. This kiss was a promise, a tease, the offer of more. Hot arousal pooled in the pit of Ryan’s stomach all over again, a soft moan escaping him as he let himself melt against Oscar’s lips.
Hereallyliked this. Whatever else he was figuring out about himself, there was no disputing that this turned him on. ThatOscarturned him on.
The real surprise was that it seemed to work the other way, too. Oscar kept kissing and touching andwantinghim.
“Oh wow,” Finn’s voice sounded from the doorway.
Ryan paused, the same panic as missing a step on the way down a flight of stairs hitting him in the back of the skull, cold and sharp. His heart hammered in his chest as Oscar backed off, his cheeks burning with embarrassment.
Oscar probably hadn’t wanted Finn to know about this. Whateverthiswas.
“Cockblocker,” Oscar said fondly, turning his attention to Finn as he took his hands off Ryan.
Finn chuckled. “You’re on the clock,” he said, apparently unfazed by having walked in on the two of them. “And I need that tiger.”
A heavy, long-suffering sigh told Ryan everything he needed to know about how Oscar felt. He wasn’t happy about the interruption, but he wasn’t freaking out, or making excuses, either.
This was okay. He didn’t mind being seen with Ryan.
That, honestly, was a surprise as well. Oscar seemed to be full of those.
“You hold that thought,” Oscar said, smirking as he stood. “And I’ll take Spot with me and you can get some work done.”
Ryan nodded, still embarrassed, but glad that Oscar wasn’t disowning him the moment his friend had come into the room. The fact that Finn knew didn’t even bother him, not really.
Probably because Finn was gay, too, and wouldn’t judge. Oscar and Finn were the first gay friends Ryan had really had. Acquaintances, sure, but notfriends.
He hadn’t had all that many friends at all. Maybe he should have moved down here a long time ago.
Spot wasn’t happy about being moved from her warm, comfortable place next to Ryan, which was oddly satisfying. Even the tiger liked him. One of Ryan’s new friends was atiger.
That was pretty cool.
“Start thinking about what you want tonight,” Oscar said as he headed toward the door. “Since you never claimed your prize for being my hero.”
Ryan swallowed thickly. He’d forgotten all about that, and now Oscar was calling him a hero right in front of Finn. That did allkindsof good things for him.
He had no idea what he wanted other thanOscar, but Oscar was enough. Just being with him made Ryan feel better. Right now, that was the best prize he could ask for.
Maybe he needed to explain that to him.
Tonight, he promised himself. He’d let Oscar know what this meant to him tonight.
