“Yeah,” Oscar agreed. “Even now.”

“Great. Then I call first dibs on the shower,” Ryan said, speeding up to a run.

Oscar laughed and raced after him, catching up just as Ryan got to the door and running straight into him, tackling him through it and nearly overbalancing both of them.

Ryan caught him, holding both his shoulders as they regained their footing, panting for breath.

Damnhe was pretty. Oscar couldn’t stop his eyes falling to Ryan’s lips, so close he would only have had to lean in and close the gap between them if he wanted to.

The thought that hedidwant to welled up in his chest, almost enough to push him to do it. Should he? Ryan wasn’t… moving away, didn’t seem to be in a hurry anymore.

A tendril of lust coiled in the pit of Oscar’s stomach, the idea of darting forward and letting their lips crash together taking up all the space in his brain for a heartbeat. He could imagine Ryan’s grunt of surprise, and then a moment of hesitation, and then the soft, sweet sound when he gave in, shocked at himself for wanting this but too eager to say no.

The image evaporated as Ryan let go of him.

The lust… didn’tquiteevaporate. Oscar pushed it aside anyway.

“You can take the first shower,” he said. “I don’t mind.”

Ryan nodded after a moment, as though he’d been lost in his own thoughts, too.

Oscar watched him head for the bathroom, and then turned to close the bedroom door behind them.

For some reason, he felt as though he’d just missed an opportunity.
