One more step, and I’m towering over her. I don’t miss the slight shiver her body releases when our arms brush.

I feel it, too, baby.

She tries to straighten and hold her stance; she has no idea what she does to me. To say it’s a turn-on would be an understatement.

There are rarely any genuine connections made in my world, and people typically cower at my glare. Having money and power makes people do funny things around you.

But not my girl.

If there ever was one, she is what I would consider the perfect woman.

Strong, sweet, and spirited as hell, wrapped up in the perfect fucking bow.

Leaning close so we’re eye to eye, I tell her, “First, I’ll only ever take what you give me. Second…” I cup her cheek and smile on the inside when she doesn’t move away. “You got the look wrong. That look was saying how fucking hot it was you seeing you jealous over me.”

Her eyes flare with embarrassment, but she doesn’t back down. “I’m not jealous, Harrison. I don’t appreciate her blatant flirtatious attitude, and you say nothing about it.”

“Sounds like jealousy to me,” I goad.

She crosses her arms, aggravated. “And I don’t like having restrictions.”

“Now I’m lost.”

“If the roles were reversed, you would have lost your mind without caring who was around. What if I did that today, and Claud overheard? Or Sebastian, who I assume was the one who picked up Claud.” Her cheeks redden, and her eyes flash with a mix of anger andhurt.

Fuck.

“You’re right.” She is…I would have lost my shit without thinking of the consequences, which is new for me. “Do you want me to call her to come back so you can go bat shit crazy on her?” I smirk, and she hits my chest.

“I’d rather you lose her number.” She looks down and lowers her voice. “You said no others when we’re together.”

“Baby.” I palm her nape, bringing our faces closer together to kiss her lightly on the forehead. “She is in my past and staying there. I promise.”

“Okay,” she mumbles.

“Hey.” I lift her chin. “I’m a man of my word. If we’re monogamous, that’s the end of it. You never have to second guess me.”

My stomach hollows, making me sick even thinking of being with another woman right now.

“Harrison.” Her big brown eyes study mine, which are hostage to hers.

“Tell me you’ll go out with me tonight.”

“Oh…”

“Tell me.”

A few seconds pass as her eyes flutter with mixed emotions.

“But, what if people see us?”

“It’s a date. They don’t know what happens after.”

“Harr—”

“Tell me.” I kiss up her neck.

“Oh my god, you’re insufferable. You’re like a big baby.”
