I wipe the tear that drips down my cheek. How it’s even possible I have any left in my body is beyond me.

“What doyoumean? Why did you come home early?”

He moves my hand away so he can dry my tears, then leans over to kiss me lightly. “I saw you crying in the hallway, on the security cameras.”

“Security cameras? You never told me…” My eyes widen with a thought. “Who sees these videos?”

“Me? Why?”

“Well, the things you’ve done to me in your hallway aren’t exactly something I want to share with the world.”

A deep rumble vibrates through his chest. “You think I would ever chance sharing you with anyone else? Never, ever will that happen. And they were only installed the other day.”

Wait.“You left your meeting because you saw me crying? That meeting was important, Harrison.”

He cups my cheek and looks at me with a look that warms my insides. “Not as important as you. I told you, you’re mine.”

“Harrison…”

“You told me you could only do all in. I’m all in, Jules, and I will always be here for you without a second thought. I will always take care of my girls.”

“Although this all sounds amazing, I’m confused,” I admit.

He swings his legs off the bed and places me against the headboard. “I know my girl can’t function properly without her breakfast. Stay here, and I’ll grab us something, then we’ll talk.” He ties his robe around him, then he’s out the door, and I wish he hadn’t left. My imagination runs wild when he’s not here, and I need the calm he brings me.

I get up and walk into the bathroom, figuring freshening up might distract me. I smile inwardly when I open the bottom cabinet, and my stuff is still there.

Even though I haven’t been here in weeks, and things have been confusing between us, he kept everything of mine.

I brush my teeth, then wash my face when a memory comes barreling forward.“This is where you belong, with me, in this bed, my home, and our life.”Harrison enters the bedroom, holding a tray of food, coffee, and green tea.

“You said you want me in your home andourlife,” I blurt out.

He sets it down, then stalks over to where I stand in the bathroom doorway, pulling me into him in an embrace.

“What do you think all in is, Jules? If we’re doing this, we’re doing it right. We’re not half-assing it.”

“But—”

“Are you having second thoughts?” He leans back to look at me.

“What? No? But…I don’t know. This is all coming out of nowhere. I thought you were subtly trying to end things with me, and now you want more. So much more.”

“Clearly, I have a lot to explain. Tell me one thing first, baby, are you in or are you out?”

He’s asked me this once before, and just like then, there is no hesitation. “In.”So in.

He lets out a desperate growl and aggressively takes my lips, smashing our bodies together to make us one, yet all too soon, he pulls back.

“Claud is my entire universe, and we’re a package deal. You going to be okay with that?”

Is he joking with me? I cross my arms, annoyed, and walk around him. “I’m not even entertaining that question. It’s almost insulting you would ask me that.”

When he mutters a softfuck, I realize I’m completely naked.

“Stop distracting me.” He slaps my ass, chuckling as he picks me up from behind and carries me back to bed.

Before he comes to lie next to me, he passes me oatmeal, exactly how I love it, with berries on the side topped with cinnamon and maple syrup.
