I circled the house. On the bottom floor, I saw movement. I landed yards away and approached slowly, being sure to keep my bright eyes mostly covered with my hand. Not that anyone was paying attention because the person inside it was talking to a computer or camera. She was dancing around, wearing a tight pink crop top and holding a rolling pin, rubbing it up and down with oil.

Huh.

It wasn’t Kassie, so I moved around the house, and on the top floor, I saw dark lights flashing. Purples, blues, and then I heard a cry of, “Fuck! Take that!”

Was she having sex up there?

I spiked with jealousy at the thought of that. She might not be my match, but she asked me if I was going to the party, and she wanted to meet there. That was a date, right?

I screeched in agitation and flew up to the window. My claws sank into the wooden frame. The window curtain was wide open, the window cracked. There was no male in her bed. Instead, there were stuffed animals, a bat, a capybara, and other creatures. The room was dark except for the flashing lights around her room, a computer setup with a ring light.

“You are gonna get it now! I’ve got a power-up to use!” My eyes darted to Kassie. She scrunched up her lips, her thumbs moving rapidly against something in her hand.

A game, a video game.

“You hear me YeetMachine? I’m coming for you!” she screamed.

“Yeah,Kassassin, take this and shove it up your ass!”

My wings fluttered behind me in annoyance.

He wasn’t really going to shove something up her ass, but the thought of someone actually threatening her pissed me off.

She wasn’t a match. She wasn't a match.

But I found myself drawn to her. She was nice and didn’t laugh at me when I fell. She helped me up and even wanted to see me later.

And by Night, those breasts on her were niiiice.

She was wearing a low-cut top, and every time she got frustrated, they bounced.

My tongue slid from my mouth, and I licked the window.

Great, I’m a pervert.

But I’m not touching her. I’m just sitting here, making sure she doesn’t get into trouble with the town. This was fine. I’m following orders.

What about a sniff? I needed to make sure there weren’t any bombs. She’s talking about bombing people, right?

“Here, I’m gonna bomb your little hut!”

See, there it was. Sniffing for bombs, that’s all.

My antennae slipped under the cracked window. Oh yes, she smells so good. Her room radiated her orange and vanilla scent.

I sighed, rested my head on the window, and closed my eyes to bask in her scent. Then I heard her chair move.

I opened my eyes, and that was when I saw her staring right at me.

Uh oh. Could she see me? Do I stay still?

She went back to her game and typed on the computer. I didn’t leave right away, just watched and continued to take in her scent.

Her typing stopped, and I watched her as she slowly took off her headset, as if she was trying not to spook me.

Unfortunately, I was already spooked, so I closed my eyes and dropped, flitting my wings and flying to the top of the roof. She was at the window seconds later. She looked down and side to side, her view unobstructed since the window was entirely open. Her hair danced in the wind.

Luckily, she never looked up but went back inside. That was when I took off into the night, back into the forest where I would for sure be taking care of my always-growing problems.
