His eyes scanned her face as they stood in the shadows on the porch.“You’re telling me you’ve only had sex once?Ever?”he asked in amazement.
Victoria had begun to feel uncomfortable.“No, a few times, and they were all pretty much the same uncomfortable situation.So, I just wanted to warn you.I’m not going into tonight with a lot of experience.”
“Oh, sweetheart, you don’t have to forewarn me about anything.Everything is going to be okay, and I guarantee you’ll be happier this time around.”
Victoria rolled her eyes and snorted.“That sounds kind of cocky.”
“No, not cocky,” he said and chuckled.“The only time you’ve had sex was with boys.Tonight, you’re going to be with a man who only wants your pleasure.”
Victoria drew in a deep breath as the nerves wracked her body.“Don’t bet on me having an orgasm.”
“I guarantee you will have at least two orgasms tonight.”He chuckled at her doubt.
“That’s not even possible,” she snorted, but felt a tightening in her core that she’d never had before at the thought.
He looked at her in disbelief.“Oh, Jesus, woman, didn’t anyone talk to you about a woman’s body or read a romance book?”
“No, I would never have asked my mom, and in school and during my downtime, I was busy studying and working.”
“You had no friends you talked to about sex?”
Her lips parted in a smile.“Yes.Trisha and I talked about it, but we were ten and thought if you bumped noses, you got pregnant.Frankly, I’m still not sure you don’t.”
He threw his head back and laughed.
She smiled and watched him.Her heart about stopped, and her smile slipped from her face.Victoria knew when she looked back on that night, she needed to remember that very instant was when she fell in love with Cole.
He looked down at her as his laugh faded, his smile soon followed.“What’s wrong?”
She pulled herself from her thoughts and smiled.“Absolutely nothing.”
Cole’s eyes narrowed on her before he fortunately decided to let it go for the moment.He wrapped an arm around her waist and walked her inside.He jerked to a stop, turned, and locked the door behind them.Turning back to her, he set his hands on her shoulders.
“I know it’s common around here to keep your doors unlocked, but I would prefer it if you locked yours all the time.I trust Tomas with you, but I don’t know the others very well.”
Victoria nodded silently and then let him snatch up her hand and start pulling her up the stairs.She giggled at his obvious impatience.
He stopped them beside her bed, turned, and stood looking down at her.The heat of desire in his expression made the butterflies in her stomach grow exponentially.Her eyes closed, hoping that would somehow calm her nervous jitters.

Something in his heartexpanded at the innocent, sweet look of the woman who had enthralled him from the very beginning.“Baby, open your eyes.”
Her eyes flew open to find him scrutinizing her expression.
Cole’s thumbs caressed her cheeks as his hands cupped her face.“Everything’s going to be okay.Do you trust me not to hurt you?”
Victoria nodded immediately as her tongue licked her lips nervously.
His anxiety from her apparent fear eased a bit because it was now mixed with the look of trust in her face.“Then just relax and let me make you feel good.”
“Okay,” she said simply.
Cole’s chest swelled with pride at her faith in him.It meant so much to him to know she’d put herself in his hands.He reached out and slipped her sweater from her shoulders before tackling the little buttons on her shirt.He growled in frustration when his big fingers couldn’t seem to slip the tiny buttons through the holes.
Victoria chuckled and brushed his hands away.“Here, let me do it.”
Cole watched and swallowed as her shirt parted slowly, showing a little more skin.Her fingers skimmed over her white lace bra and continued down until her shirt hung open.Her arms lay at her sides, and she turned her gaze up to him and waited.
