She wrinkled her nose. “Gross.”

“Kitchen,” Jared ordered, grabbing hold of her hand with his good one and leading her to the large kitchen where he quickly got rid of the slobbery mess.

More disgusting than whale snot.

“North, a glass of milk, please,” he said as he washed his hands.

Huh. She couldn’t imagine Jared as the milk drinking type.

Turns out, he wasn’t.

North handed her the glass of milk and she stared down at it in surprise. What was she meant to do with this?

“Drink it.” Jared grasped hold of the glass and held it to her lips. “Open.”

She parted her lips, feeling almost mesmerized by him.

“Now swallow.”

The milk slid into her mouth and she swallowed hastily.

“Aren’t you being such a good girl,” he murmured.

A shiver ran through her.

“I think she likes hearing that,” North said. “Even though she was naughty to begin with.”

Jared took the glass away from her mouth and she turned to look at North in surprise.

“Jared said to stop eating and you kept going. Why did you stuff all of that sour candy in your mouth? Was it because I suggested that you might like being between the two of us?”

Yes! It was exactly that.

“Remember, I took you for Jared.”

She narrowed her gaze at him. “Just because you kidnapped me for him, doesn’t mean that he now owns me.”

Angie swore that a look of challenge filled North’s face as he stepped toward her. “You don’t think that Jared could own you if he wanted to?”

Jared cleared his throat. “I prefer that the people I own are with me willingly.”

Right . . . but . . . hmm. There was a lot to unpack in that statement. While it seemed that Jared was being rational and was agreeing with her . . . he still sounded a bit deranged.

Because who would willingly want to be owned?

Jared brushed her hair off her face. “Of course if you agreed to be mine, then it’s for life. I wouldn’t let you go. I would keep you, own you, possess you.”

She sucked in a breath, staring up into his intense hazel-colored eyes.

She couldn’t belong to Jared . . . she wanted a life of her own.

And then there was his . . . his . . . what was North?

But she was reading too much into what they were saying. All he’d suggested was that he help her with her Little. And this was just for one night.

“You really wouldn’t be jealous?” she asked North. “If Jared, um, Daddied me.”

Was that a word?
