“The cocaine thing was a joke, though, right?” Liam asked.

Westin smiled as she took another drag. “We’ve got to bring some excitement into their lives,” she said, patting my chest.

“I’m sure there’ll be no end to the excitement you bring into our lives,” I murmured.

I pressed the joint to her lips again until it was spent, and then pressed it out on the metal table.

“How’re you feeling?” I asked.

“The nausea isn’t as bad,” she said. The crease between her brows had softened, and the tightness in my chest eased.

Henry and Gray joined us, and we all sat surrounding our omega, taking in the quiet of the night.

“The stars are pretty,” Westin said, raising a hand to the sky like she could touch them.

“They sure are, baby.”

She ran her nose down my neck, breathing in deeply. “You smell so good,” she murmured.

I grinned. “Thanks, baby.”

“All of you smell so good,” she said, gesturing wildly at the rest of the guys.

Liam had filled us in on why Westin didn’t have a scent. If she did, I knew she’d smell utterly delicious.

“Whose scent is your favorite?” I asked.

She tapped her chin like she was thinking, and then she locked eyes with me. “Nope, I’m not that high. You can’t trick me.”

I chuckled. “You got me.”

Westin shifted in the blankets. “I’m hungry.”

“Do you want funnel cake?” Henry asked.

Westin gasped. “You have funnel cake?”

“Of course, darling. We brought it back for you. It’s probably not great now that it’s not fresh?—”

“I don’t care,” Westin said quickly.

Henry smiled and went inside to grab the cakes. He’d insisted we bring them back in case she wanted them later, and I was so glad he had.

I helped Westin sit up on my lap, keeping her back firmly pressed to my chest and my arms around her. The blanket shifted with the movement and fell off her shoulder. I leaned down to kiss the soft skin there before adjusting the blanket.

“How’s the pain?” I asked, my lips brushing the shell of her ear.

“Still pretty bad.”

For Westin, that probably meant it was excruciating. I hated how much she downplayed her symptoms. She shouldn’t hide anything from us.

Henry reappeared holding two plates with the funnel cakes and put them down on the outdoor dining table. We all crowded around, waiting for Westin to take the first piece. She looked around at all of us.

“Umm, is it poisoned? Is that why you’re not eating it?” she asked.

Liam smirked and took a large piece and stuffed it into his mouth, making a satisfied groan. Westin grinned and took a bite, wiggling happily in my lap.

I tightened my grip on her and took a piece of funnel cake, holding it to her lips. Her lips brushed against my fingers as she ate it out of my hand, making my cock twitch. I didn’t believe in the magic of the universe like Westin did, but something about the stars shining brightly above us made me send a wish out to the sky—a wish that tomorrow would bring us answers and Westin would soon be healed.
