Bear wrapped his arms around Westin, resting his chin on the top of her head. “Alright, let’s see it, Mr. Bodyguard.”

I lifted the gun, taking a deep breath as I lined up the first target. I was brought back to my teenage days practicing shots in the backyard with my trusty BB gun. My alpha said I needed to hit every bottle to impress our omega.

I aimed and pulled the trigger, knocking all five of the bottles down, one after the other, in mere seconds. They made a satisfying clang as they fell off the ledge.

Westin cheered loudly and jumped into my arms. I spun her around before putting her gently back on the ground, tilting her chin for another kiss. My hands strayed down her body, cupping her ass and pressing her against me. I forgot where we were until the booth attendant cleared his throat.

“Nice shot,” he said. “You can choose from any of the top prizes.”

Westin looked up at me, as if asking for permission, and I gave her a little wink. “Choose whatever you want, princess.”

She pored over her options and finally pointed at a stuffed animal—a small hedgehog with brown quills. She looked so fucking happy as she took the toy from the attendant, holding it close and petting the soft fur.

“I love him,” she said, leaning into my side. “Thank you.”

“All those options and you couldn’t have chosen a bear?” Bear muttered.

“If you want to win her a bear, you’ll need to do it.” Now it was my turn to do the taunting and it felt fucking great.

Bear huffed. “It’s probably not even that hard.” He walked over to the booth attendant, giving him another four tickets.

He took the gun from me and took aim. He missed all of them except for one, and I felt perverse pleasure that I had bested him.

“What the fuck?” He looked down at the plastic gun as if it had betrayed him.

“Not everyone has my skill,” I said, flexing my arms as I stretched them.

Westin bounced forward, taking the gun out of Bear’s hands. “I want to try.” She glanced back at me, and I handed the attendant the tickets. Even though it was just some carnival tickets, I loved getting to spoil her.

“Don’t feel bad if you miss them all. It’s rigged,” Bear said.

Westin lifted the gun to her face, looking at the bottle carefully before taking her shot. The pellet barely missed the bottle. The gun recoiled a bit, and she lurched back with surprise.

“Try again, princess,” I said. “You were really close. Just aim a bit more to the left and you’ll get it.”

She took a deep breath, lining up the next shot, which she hit dead center. The bottle fell and Westin turned around, the prettiest smile lighting up her face. Bear looked disgruntled, and I wanted to shove him. This was Westin’s moment, and seeing her handle the gun so well was making me hard.

She turned back to the target, taking the last three shots. She ended up hitting two more bottles, leaving her with three points.

“Good job, little lady,” the attendant said. “You can choose anything from this tier down.”

This time, she selected a plastic pink tiara.

“How do I look?” she asked, putting it on.

“Like a real princess,” I responded. The tiara was cheap and ugly, but on Westin it looked like the latest fashion trend. But then again, she made everything around her radiant.

Bear crossed his arms and said nothing. Westin sidled up to him. “You’re not mad at me for beating you, right?” She couldn’t hide her smile, and I relaxed when I realized she wasn’t upset by Bear’s reaction.

“No,” he said with an aggrieved sigh.

“Don’t worry,” Westin said seriously. “If we’re ever in a shootout, I will protect you.”

I snorted at my sassy omega. Bear pulled her into his arms and whispered something in her ear that made her blush. Then he smacked her ass. “Come on, baby. You wanted to get on some rides, yeah?”

“Yes,” Westin said. “Let’s go on the pirate ship. You coming with us, Gray? I’m not sure what the age limit is on these rides.”

It took me a minute to catch what she was saying. Bear burst out laughing, and I schooled my face to stop myself from smiling.
