CHAPTER NINETEEN

Prince entered their apartment and smiled at the scent that greeted him, knowing that Finn was home. One thing that was missing was Gray, who would usually meet him at the door or meow from somewhere else in the house.Prince took off his jacket and took out the ring.Instead of going to find Finn, he went to his office and placed the ring in a drawer, locking it with the key.Once that was done, he went in search of his man.

Finn wasn't in the kitchen but was sitting on the balcony attached to the kitchen, wrapping around to the dining room, which also had its own entrance.Although their apartment was in the middle of the city, they weren’t far from a park filled with tall, lush trees that caught the beautiful hues of sunrise or sunset.

Prince quietly walked up to Finn without alerting him, then leaned down and pressed a lingering kiss on his cheek.Finn hummed, and his hand instinctively cupped the back of his head, carding his fingers through his hair.

"You're home," Finn whispered.

"Did you miss me?"Prince asked, straightening, then walked around and sat on the lounge chair beside Finn, facing him.

"I always miss you."He smiled.

"You're home early, I thought you had a meeting."

"It got canceled.”He leaned forward, wrapping his arms around Prince's neck, whose hands immediately went to Finn's waist, pulling him so close he was practically sitting on his lap."I made your favorite."

"Impossible," Prince said."Unless you are on the menu, nothing else can top it."

Finn chuckled as his face turned bright red, and he pressed his forehead into Prince's chest.

"Where do you come up with these things?"Finn asked, chuckling.

"Many years of practice, baby."

"I see."Finn raised his head, looking at him.

Prince marveled at how good he looked.Almost as if he was glowing.

"Watch the sunset with me," Finn said.

"Scoot over," Prince told him.

"Where's Gray?"

"He's with Bevin."

"I was strongly against Bevin moving in downstairs from us, but now I'm taking it as a blessing."

"I'll tell him you said that."

"Don't you dare," Prince said.

Finn snickered."Okay, okay, your secret is safe with me."

Prince wasn't sure how Bevin had done it, but Gray went from treating Bevin as the enemy to now his friend.Bevin had moved into their building a few weeks ago and even made space for the kitten. They got comfy on the lounge chair with Finn lying in his arms as they watched the sun disappear behind the horizon.

When Prince had imagined his life in years past, it was nothing like this.Sitting long enough to watch the sun setting. It was always about making money and expanding his family's wealth so Bevin would have something to carry on, the same thing his father had done for him.

Prince knew there had been gaps in his life, and although he’d enjoyed teaching, it only filled some of them. The relationships he had were not satisfying and nothing like what he had with Finn.Prince looked down at Finn, whose long lashes were fanning his cheeks, and by the soft snores, he knew his baby had fallen asleep.Instead of waking him, Prince kissed the top of his head and enjoyed the moment.

Finn groaned, prying his eyes open. Thanks to the soft light on the nightstand, he realized he was in their bedroom alone. The last thing he remembered was being on the balcony with Prince watching the sunset. He had just finished dinner when he noticed how gorgeous it was outside and wanted to enjoy the moment.Prince had come home not long after.

"Fuck, I fell asleep and ruined my own romantic dinner where I planned to tell Prince about the baby."

Throwing the blanket off, he went in search of his lover and heard his voice coming from his office with the door open.Finn entered without knocking just as Prince was finishing up his call.He smiled when he saw Finn, who walked over as Prince sat back in his seat.He patted his legs, and Finn immediately sat down.

"Thanks, Lucas. And I owe you one for doing this."
