“But—” Yoko started.
“Come on, the taping doesn’t start for a couple of hours, so stop stressing. Let’s go to the dressing room and see what Donte picked out for me to read tonight.”
Yoko huffed, realizing that she wasn’t going to get a chance to yell at him. “Fine, let’s go.”
Uriel chuckled. “Sometimes I wonder who’s the boss, you or me.” He watched her walk away, then took out his cellphone and sent Kristoph a text explaining that Azazel was going to pick him up from basketball practice.
Uriel still hadn’t spoken to Kristoph about going to Azazel behind his back. Uriel wasn’t angry, he was just disappointed that Kristoph didn’t tell him what he was up to. Uriel pushed it to the back of his mind and made a vow to talk with his son later that week. Until then, he would let Kristoph get to know Azazel.
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Donald walked out ofBella's Diner with the specially made pies he ordered for himself. Since getting pregnant, the only thing he’d been able to keep down were pies from the diner. He’d tried eating any and everything else, but either it didn't taste good or it smelled weird.
Donald hummed a tune as he’d heard Adrian humming from some band called 4X-Clusive as he walked down the street, heading back to his office to have his lunch. He wouldn't admit it out loud that he liked the pop idol group, and their music seemed to be geared mostly towards kids like Adrian age than adults. He would have loved to attend one of their concerts, but it was a shame the group had disbanded.
Goosebumps prickled on his arms as a strange feeling came over him, like it had several times over the past couple of days. He was uncertain, but he had the feeling that someone was following him. Looking around, Donald saw familiar and unfamiliar faces, but nothing threatening was coming off of them.
Not seeing anything out of the ordinary, he continued to head to his office. Coincidentally, Donald had been having the stalker feeling around the same time every day when he took his lunch break and walked to the diner to get his pies. He hadn’t mentioned it to Fenrir since he didn’t think he was in danger and knew that his mate would end up attached to his side constantly.
Donald brushed away the feeling and went to open the door to his building, but paused when he felt a light tap on his right shoulder. Donald turned to speak with the person and looked down when he noticed they were not the same height as him. The person looked to be around five-foot-four, give or take a couple of inches. They were wearing a black baseball cap low on their head with the initialsVWHSembroidered on it. With the cap on, Donald couldn’t tell if he was looking at a boy or girl, even though they had a small hoop earring in their ear.
What he could see was they were wearing a mask that covered the lower half of their face, and by the looks of it, they were from Valleywood since they were dressed in a school uniform. Dark blue slacks, untucked white shirt, navy-blue blazer, and a blue-and-white-stripe tie that was loose at the knot.
So it’s obvious it’s a kid, but what is he doing here? Shouldn't he be in school? This kid can’t be my stalker, right?
“What can I do for you?” Donald asked. “How did you end up in Vale Valley? Did you get lost and need help to find your parents?”
The kid raised his head and Donald staggered back, hitting the door when he saw the pale-gray-and-red eyes looking back at him. The person in front of him pulled down their mask and Donald’s heartbeat sped up, staring at the boy with a familiar face looking up at him. Except for the fact that one of the boy’s eyes was red, the kid and Donald resembled each other. It was as if they could be father and son.
Wait! Is he my son?
Donald wracked his brain, trying to think if he'd accidentally gotten a woman pregnant, but instantly remembered that he never slept with women. He almost sighed in relief when he remembered the moment he experienced his first taste of dick; he only slowed down after meeting his mate, Fenrir.
Shit, what, did I get some guy pregnant? Oh, fuck! Fenrir is going to kill me.
“My name is Kristoph DeVine,” the kid said. “I’m your…”
“I've already figured out who you are,” Donald said, interrupting the kid and watching as his eyes widened.
“You did?” the kid, Kristoph, asked.
“Yes." Donald sighed, then looked around, remembering they were standing outside. “Let’s go inside to my office and talk. We can call your dad, then, too.”
The child stared at him for a couple of minutes before agreeing to go inside with him. Donald led him into the building and right to his office on the third floor, thankful his busybody assistant wasn’t at her desk. He quickly ushered Kristoph into his office and closed the door tightly before she returned. Putting the bag of pies down on the coffee table, Donald walked over to the fridge Fenrir had installed and grabbed them each a bottle of water.
When he turned to hand the kid his water, he noticed Kristoph had taken off the baseball cap that he was wearing, revealing platinum-and-jet-black shoulder-length hair, similar to how his was currently growing and changing. He’d been reluctant over the past few weeks to cut his hair that he usually wore short and trim.
So many similarities, it’s hard to deny that we're related.
Kristoph was very handsome, like his other kids, and it made Donald proud that he had a part in giving him his good looks. Kristoph looked well taken care of, but it still made him wonder who the other father was. Donald hadn’t known he was a part of the supernatural world, so it stood to reason the person he impregnated was an omega.
“How old are you?” Donald asked.
“I’m ten even though I should be older, obviously, but I can’t blame Dad for that, even if he tries to put the blame on himself.”
Ten! Who did I get pregnant ten years ago?His last partner before Fenrir was Grayson, and their entanglement lasted a couple of years.
“Can…can you tell me about your other parent, like what he looks like or his name?”
