Azazel nodded. “I shouldn’t be surprised, but you still amaze me. I can tell you’ve grown as an angel and a person. And I want to get to know this new you.”

“What if you don’t like who I am now?”

“Baby, that will never happen. I will never stop loving you. It might take time, but I will adjust to fit the new you. We’re mates, Uri, and we should learn to accept each other for who we are and go from there. I’m more worried that you will be afraid of the man I’ve become.”

Uriel stared at Azazel, noticing that he’d also changed. He seemed more open to things, however there was a look in his eyes that told Uriel that he had his own secrets he wanted to stay hidden.

“I’m not the same person I once was, Az. I can take whatever you can dish out.”

Azazel smiled. “Good.”

He leaned down and brushed their lips together, and Uriel could smell the spiciness of Azazel mixed with his cologne. That was always comforting and arousing. Resting his hand on Azazel’s waist, he leaned in closer and deepened their kiss, moaning when the other man’s lightly bearded chin rubbed against his, heightening his arousal.

He would be a liar if he told himself that he wanted to take things slow or wait until they had everything in their life perfect before getting intimate with Azazel. What was the sense in waiting when they had been separated for over thirty years? Uriel could already feel the subtle threads of their bond reattaching themselves together since the other night.

They still had things to work out, but they had crossed a major hurdle. And now that he had Azazel back in his life, he would not let him go. Uriel moaned when he felt Azazel’s hand kneading his ass as their kiss grew more intense. Uriel freely opened himself up to Azazel, not holding back from the assault on his mouth. There wasn’t a fight for dominance, and he simply enjoyed the spiciness of the man’s lips.

Uriel reached between them and unbuttoned Azazel’s pants, intending to strip the man bare and devour his cock, but was waylaid when a gurgling sound stopped them both. Uriel could feel his face heating up, and Azazel chuckled at his expense.

Uriel opened his eyes and separated their lips, glaring at the other man. “If you continue to laugh, I will not let you fuck me.”

“Is that only for today or do you mean forever?” Azazel asked and continued to chuckle.

“Keep laughing and see what happens.” Uriel pushed him away and sat down in one of the chairs and reached for the sandwich that Yoko had bought for him, only to realize it was missing.

Shit, I must have left it in the car. Hopefully, it doesn’t go to waste.

He looked at Azazel, who had sat down beside him. “You invited me to lunch but I don’t see anything to eat.”

Azazel leered at him. “Really? I see something delicious I want to eat.”

“Azazel, stop joking around. I’m hungry. I had to get up really early this morning, and all I had was toast and a glass of rice milk.”

“You still drink that crap?” Azazel scowled, shaking his head. “Let me feed you something with flavor.”

He raised his hand and signaled to someone, and in seconds, two demons dressed as servers walked out of wherever they were hiding, each held a gold tray with a gold dome covering whatever lay underneath. They walked over to the table and lifted the plates off the tray, setting them down in front of him and Azazel.

Uriel looked at the man beside him and sighed, somehow forgetting how boastful he was, and prayed to Odin that it wasn’t some fancy food that he hated. Uriel was so hungry he didn’t wait for Azazel and took the dome off, gasping in shock and delight when he saw that it was hot dogs with different toppings from his favorite delicatessen, laid out nicely on fine gold-rimmed China.

“You got me hot dogs.” Uriel beamed.

“Did you think I would get you something you didn’t like?”

“I didn't, but I know you don’t like to eat this stuff.” Uriel wasn’t a health nut in the least and ate pretty well, but there were times he enjoyed having junk food. Azazel, on the other hand, was all about eating the best-cut meats and vegetables.

“I don’t, but you do, and I want to make you happy.”

Uriel leaned over and pecked him on his mouth. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Azazel kissed him back. “Hurry up and eat, I also got dessert.”

Leaning back in his chair, Uriel forgot about manners and picked up his first hot dog topped with coleslaw and took a big bite, moaning in sweet delight.

What a perfect way to get to my heart,he thought as he looked at Azazel, who was staring at him, or rather the hot dog in his hand with an unreadable expression.
