Azazel was more certain that Blue Lennox was Uriel. He was willing to forgive him for leaving him three years ago, but now, finding out that he had not one but two children, he didn’t think they could get past this and have a future.
“Don’t get angry at Dad,” the kid said, cutting into his thoughts. “He did what he had to do to protect us. The one you should be mad at is Grandfather Dio. I know Dad doesn’t want me to talk bad about him. But Grandfather hurt Dad.”
“Dio?”
“Yeah,” Kristoph answered.
Azazel stepped from behind his desk and moved over to his son. “Tell me, what did Dio do to Uriel?”
“I…I can’t tell you. It’s something Dad has to tell you himself.”
“Did he swear you to secrecy? You’re too young to use that kind of magic on you.”
“I was the one who placed the secrecy magic on myself. Dad knows nothing about it. I did it for my protection.”
“How old are you to use advanced magic?”
“Even though I’m ten, I’m pretty knowledgeable about things. Plus, I’m in high school now; shouldn’t I be smart enough to do advanced magic?”
“Yeah, I read that. Even though we just met, I'm proud of you,” Azazel said.
“Yeah?” Kristoph's face lit up.
Azazel went to hug Kristoph, but the boy looked at his cellphone and started backing out of the room.
“Father, I have to go, but I’ll be back. I'll come back to see you again. Okay, bye.”
The kid was gone before Azazel could stop him. Azazel’s mind was racing with questions, and his heart felt broken.Uriel, what did you do?
Azazel was angry, but he didn't know where to vent his frustration on the matter. Uriel had not been pregnant with one child but two, and he'd kept it from Azazel.
He left when he was pregnant. Did he know? Didn't he trust me enough to protect him and our children?
In a matter of days, his entire world had changed. He wasn’t sure if the fates were trying to fix what had been broken so many years ago or if they were simply trying to fuck with him for shits and giggles. But he would not sit down and take it. He needed to find out what the fuck was going on, and the first person he needed to speak to was Dio.
Azazel disappeared from his office and appeared at the gates of the heavenly realm. Recognizing his blood signature, the gates opened automatically for him. Azazel might have been cast out, but he would always be recognized as the prince of the realm. He could never be forgotten.
“Dio, show yourself!” Azazel stormed into Dio’s palace, which was considered his place of solace, and did not care who got in his way. He entered the throne room and was stopped by a familiar face.
“Azazel, what are you doing here?” a handsome angel that Azazel had never seen before asked.
“Where is your lord!”
“Dio is not here. He went into seclusion three years ago and we’re not sure where he went.”
“You’re lying to me. Who are you? His new lapdog?”
“I am Micha, Lord Dio’s third in command.”
“Like I said,” Azazel sneered. “Lapdog. Look I’m not here to fight you and I’m trying to keep my cool, but if you don’t tell me where that bastard is I will kill you.”
“I’m not lying to you. Dio is not here. After Uriel was injured three years ago fighting Angrboda, Dio likes to leave for a period of time and return whenever it pleases him.”
Hearing Uriel’s name, Azazel glared at Micha. “Fine, since he’s not here, then tell me, what did he do to Uriel?”
“What do you mean? Is Uriel missing?” Micha asked, and he saw the concern on the man’s face.
However, Azazel ignored the look of worry on his face and continued to question Micha. “Just tell me what you did to him.”
