Uriel smiled and moved closer to the kid. "Do you have a problem with me, or is that you didn't get fucked good last night?"
"Celebrities like you make me sick," the kid snarled. "I don't know why my boss has me treating you differently than everyone else."
"Aw, poor baby, are you jealous?" Uriel reached up and lightly tapped the kid on his cheek. "Do you want him to f—"
"Mister Lennox, I'd advise you not to antagonize my assistant."
Uriel looked away from the other man and saw Azazel standing not far from them.
"Well then, teach him some manners," Uriel said. "Aren't you the one spouting nonsense about propriety?" He looked back at the assistant who had a smug smile on his face. It was reminiscent of the past where Azazel would defend his friends and not him.
Damn, things never change.
Brushing past the kid, Uriel purposely bumped shoulders with him and scowled at Azazel as he walked up to him.
"Where's the conference room?" Uriel asked. Standing that close to Azazel he could smell the man's expensive cologne.
"You fascinate me, Mister Lennox," Azazel said next to his ear, sending shivers down his spine. "And when I get curious about someone, it makes me want to get to know everything about them."
Uriel scoffed to stop his body from reacting to Azazel's words. "I would advise you against that, Mister CEO."
"Yeah, why's that?"
"Because this kitten will bite back, so I'd advise you to put your curiosity to rest."
"Funny, I don't think you're a kitten." He paused and looked at Uriel. "More along the lines of a tiger just waiting to be tamed."
Fuck! Fuck! Where does he come up with these corny-ass lines?Uriel didn't want to admit that they were working on him.
"Like I said, shady. Now show me to the conference room, or do you plan on conducting the meeting out here?"
Azazel smiled. "What a bossy little tiger you are. I'll let it pass for now since we have a lot to discuss. Come this way."
Azazel walked away from Uriel, not bothering to look and see if he was following him. Uriel took the time to collect his thoughts, trying not to focus on how inappropriate his actions were in front of Azazel.
Get your shit together, Uri. No more flirting with the cheating bastard.
CHAPTER NINE
"Azazel," Robert Fang said."We've narrowed it down to three candidates for the child actor to play the universal system."
"Yeah, let me see them." Azazel held out his hand for the folder the casting director Adina Keeling had in her hand.
"We have our favorite, but we wanted to show you the options," Adina said.
They had been meeting for three hours, and so far they'd covered a lot of ground. With the shooting starting in a couple of weeks, Azazel had cleared his schedule for the entire day. Other than their playful banter before the start of the meeting, Azazel and Blue Lennox did not have much to say to each other.
However, the blue-eyed actor had good ideas and asked for a couple of changes that neither Azazel, the writers, or Robert had a problem with. Such as instead of having the main character dying in a car crash, he could die from a terminal illness. His will to live on became his strength as he traveled from world to world.
The set design was almost complete and the walkthrough was scheduled for sometime next week, as well as the costumes for the first season. Since the main character was traveling to the modern world, there wasn't much to change.
Flipping the folder open, Azazel scanned through the pictures and stopped at a kid who caught his attention. He wasn't sure but there was something about the kid that called to him. He had platinum-blond-and-jet-black hair, with one pale gray eye and the other red, and a smile that was filled with innocence. Turning the photo around, he saw the child's name, Kristoph D. K., age ten. He didn't have any acting to his resume, however Kristoph was in high school, top in his class, and was on the basketball team.
High school?Azazel looked at Adina to see if it was a typo. "I like the look of this Kristoph kid, but it says he is ten and in high school, is that right?"
"Yes, it's correct. According to his guardian, he's super smart."
"How's his acting? He's never done this before," Azazel said.
