He stepped away from his mother and sister and walked over to his uncle, hugging him.

“My you’ve grown into a handsome young man,” Mohe said when they separated and lightly patted him on his cheek. “It’s good to see joy on your face, my little one.”

“It’s good to see you, too.” Quintus smiled, looking up at the man he’d idolized when he was a kid. “When did you get here?”

“He got here a week ago,” Sareena interjected.

“And it’s for good,” his mother added. “He’s moving to Vale Valley. Isn’t that exciting?”

Quintus looked between his mother and uncle Mohe, seeing the strong family resemblance—except for their eyes.

“How did you find the town?” As far as Quintus knew, his mother hadn’t spoken to her brother since the night they’d left.

“The town’s magic called to me in a dream vision.”

“Seriously?”

“Yes,” Mohe answered. “I am not sure for what purpose the town has called me here. But I would not go against its magic. I simply need to wait for it to guide me.”

Quintus knew the town was infused with magic, but he’d never heard of it calling someone to it.

Is trouble coming to Vale Valley?

“Your mother tells me you run your own company,” Mohe said, breaking the silence between them.

“Yeah, although I inherited it from Gabriel. I’m just trying to walk in his shoes.” He hugged his uncle again. “I can’t believe you’re here. Why didn’t anyone call me?” He stepped out of his uncle’s arms but stood close to him.

“I tried to, but you weren’t answering your phone,” Sareena told him.

“Shit, I’m sorry,” he said but didn’t give an explanation.

“Whoever he is must have kept you very busy,” Sareena said, wiggling her eyebrows.

“So busy I forgot there were other people in the world.” He couldn’t remove the smile from his face while talking about his mate.

“Well, then who is he?” Elizabella asked.

“Scott Shelton,” Quintus whispered and then covered his ears when they started screaming.

“I feel like I’ve missed something,” he heard his uncle Mohe say.

“I’ll explain later,” Elizabella told Mohe.

“Oh no,” Sareena exclaimed. “Who’s going to tell Arianna?” She looked at Quintus speculatively. “I told you about her crush on Scott.”

“Who has a crush on me?”

Quintus gasped and turned when he heard Scott’s deep voice. He took the short steps to his mate, who pulled him into a hug and claimed his lips before he could say a word.

“I missed you,” Scott whispered against his lips.

“I missed you, too.”

“You two are so adorable,” Sareena said behind them.

“Scott, have you eaten?” his mom asked.

“No I haven’t, Miss Bella,” he answered respectfully.
