He wasn't paying attention to his assistant, who was walking around his office picking things up and setting them back into their proper positions. He was more concerned with Loki's words.

Then he remembered what his aunt Rosemary said about Katarina's premonition.

Was it the fight for Odin’s throne she was talking about?

Chapter Eighteen

Quintus entered Bella’s Diner and looked around for his mother.

He knew she was probably angry with him, since he hadn’t seen or spoken to her in the two weeks he’d spent with Scott. His body warmed all over just thinking of his mate. It seemed they were both not being completely open with each other, even though they sometimes talked into the late hours of the night.

I should tell him about killing my dad. Secrets have a way of coming out at the most awkward times.

"We'll look who's finally decided to grace us with his divine presence." Sareena walked over to him looking a bit tired.

"Hey, baby girl.” He pulled Sareena into a hug. “How are you doing?” He put a hand on her flat stomach. “How’s my little niece or nephew doing in there?”

“You realize you’ve only been gone for two weeks, right?” She stepped back and looked at him.

“Yeah, but I don’t want to miss any of the important things in their life.”

“Well, everything is still the same as it was two weeks ago. Other than dealing with morning sickness, I’m prepping for graduation.” She smiled, her face lighting up. “I have some good news.”

“I do too, but let me hear your news first,” Quintus told her.

“I heard back from the five colleges I applied to, and I’ve been accepted to all of them.”

“Oh, my gods. Reena, that is fucking awesome.” He lifted her in his arms, whirling her around.

“Put me down, you idiot,” she said, chuckling. “I might throw up.”

“I’m so fucking proud of you.” He set her down but kept his arms around her.

“Thanks. I have to admit, I was a bit doubtful I’d be accepted to any of them. I called and spoke to one of the advisors, and they are okay with me going online. I can still keep my grants and scholarships. I just need to maintain my GPA and speak with my professors often.”

“I’m glad things are going in your favor.” Quintus smiled and kissed her on her forehead. “Have you picked out which one you’re going to?”

“No,” she whined and rested her head on his chest.

“Don’t worry. You’ll figure it out.”

“Speaking of graduation, are you bringing your mate?”

“I don’t know if he wants to come…”

“I knew it,” she said, jumping up in excitement and threw herself in his arms. “Oh, my gods. Quinny, I’m so happy for you.”

“What’s going on out here?” Elizabella asked, coming to stand beside them.

“Mama, Quinny found his mate,” Sareena said, turning to their mother.

“What? Who is it? When can we meet him? Where is he from? What does he do?”

His mother rattled off questions, not taking a breath in her excitement. Quintus chuckled, the joy on their faces touched his heart. “Take a breath, Mama.”

“What has everyone so excited?”

Quintus looked away from his mother and sister, hearing a voice that went with a face he hadn’t seen since he was seven. “Uncle Mohe, wh…what are you doing here?”
