Satisfied with the answer and pleased by the mark, Quintus finished up in the bathroom and let his nose lead him to the kitchen. The door leading to the small balcony was open, letting in a cool summer breeze.
Quintus could see why Scott wanted to move into a bigger place, with the new balcony that he was building they’d be able to eat outdoors on a beautiful summer day. He finally looked at the table, and his eyes widened in shock. Scott wasn’t kidding when he said he went overboard. French toast, bacon, home fries, fresh fruits, coffee, and orange juice.
What no eggs?
“How do you like your eggs?”
Quintus barked out a laugh as he sat down.
“What did I ask that was so funny?” Scott asked.
“I was wondering with the spread on the table why there weren’t any eggs. And I take them scrambled, thank you.”
“I like to make those fresh,” Scott told him. “Besides, my sire would kick my ass if I fed my mate warmed up eggs.”
“Speaking of parents.” Quintus reached for a piece of bacon, biting into it. “Are we ready to announce to the world we’re an item?”
“That depends,” Scott said.
“On what?” Quintus asked in confusion.
“If you can wait two more weeks.”
“Why two weeks?”
“Maybe I should be asking what’s your schedule like for the next two weeks?”
“Well, let’s see,” Quintus said, thinking about his workload. “I’m not scheduled to start working on your house for another couple of weeks. I still need to work on the designs for your playroom.”
“Let’s put the playroom aside for now,” Scott told him. “So, is that it...starting my house?”
“No, I’m planning the annual company picnic I usually have every year. That takes up most of my time when I’m not in meetings or working with my guys. And Donald asked me to help him with the Fourth of July extravaganza thing, but I don’t think he needs my help for a while. Since it’s his first official event as the deputy mayor, I promised I would help him out as much as I can. But since we just started June, I guess I can take some time off. What do you have in mind?”
Scott walked over to him and set a plate of eggs in front of him. “I was thinking we could maybe use that time for a short honeymoon period. Besides, it will be enough time for you to learn the basics of what I require as a dominant.” He leaned closer to Quintus and kissed him on the forehead. “I got you a mating present.”
“You’ve been busy,” Quintus commented. “Making breakfast, making plans for the next two weeks, and going to my place all before I woke up.”
“I doubt you’ll need the clothes, but I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. And I’ve already taken two weeks off on my end, by the way.”
“I know how protective Marlow is of you. How is he going to deal with you gone for two weeks?”
“Does everyone think that?”
“About Marlow?”
“Yes,” Scott said seriously.
“Let me put it this way,” Quintus said. “He worries about your heart far more than any assistant should about their boss.”
“Maybe I should talk to him.”
“No, I think he worries because he sees you as a big brother. I’m sure you’ve done things for him that no boss would.”
“True,” Scott said.
“So?”
“So what?”
