“Well, you needed it,” Scott said, smiling then getting up. “Come on, get up. I made brunch. I might have gotten a bit carried away and made enough food to feed an army.”
Quintus snickered. “All right, let me get cleaned up.” He was about to get out of bed then realized he didn’t have anything to wear other than the clothes he had on the night before. “Dammit, I don’t have anything to wear.”
“I’ve got you covered.” Scott walked over to a dresser drawer and pulled out a shirt that looked familiar, like one Quintus already owned. Scott then went over to the closet and got a green shirt Quintus had seen the man wear before. “So, which one?”
Quintus looked at the shirts in Scott’s hands and then at his mate. “Did you give me a drawer? And you went to my house.”
“Is that a problem?”
“No, I’m just shocked you gave me a drawer already.”
“You’re my mate. What’s mine is now yours. We are starting a new life together, giving you a drawer is the least I can do for what’s to come in the future.”
“That sounds ominous,” Quintus said, getting off the bed.
“We’ll talk about that later,” he said, walking over to Quintus and holding up the two shirts. Quintus reached for his shirt, but Scott hid it behind his back, putting the green one in front of his face.
“If you wanted me to wear your shirt, all you had to do was say so.” Quintus grabbed the shirt, pulling Scott down onto the bed, rolling him onto his back, and then straddled his hips.
“Sneaky,” Scott moaned.
“I am a cat. We are known to pounce on our prey.”
Scott smirked, and before he knew it, he was on his back, his hands pinned above his head and gasping for breath. “And haven’t you heard vampires are never the prey?” Scott claimed his lips, taking more of his breath away. He was about to deepen their kiss just as Scott pulled away. “We’ll have more of that later. I know you’re hungry.”
“For something else,” he said, grinding his cock against his vampire just as his stomach rumbled, causing Scott to burst out in laughter.
“Come on, go get cleaned up so we can eat.” Scott got off him and helped him up. “I got everything I think you’d need from your place for a few days. I put your toiletries along with your toothbrush on the bathroom counter for you.”
“Are you trying to tell me my breath stinks?” Quintus asked jokingly.
“Well,” Scott said, dragging out the word.
“Oh, shut up,” he said, throwing a pillow at his mate who caught it easily and then threw it back on the bed. “Fine, I’ll be out in a minute.”
“Okay.”
Scott walked out of the bedroom, leaving Quintus to get himself together.
Fuck, I’m so damn happy right now.
Quintus got out of bed and put on Scott’s shirt, leaving the first few buttons undone. He absentmindedly scratched at his chest while walking to the bathroom.
He was brushing his teeth when he noticed the dark mark on his chest. He quickly pulled his shirt to the side, revealing not only his mating bite but his mating mark that looked like as if a professional tattoo artist did the work while he was sleeping.
Wow, it’s so detailed. Is this what Scott was worried about? How I’d react to it?
“I was,”came Scott’s reply.
“Why?”Quintus asked as he reached up and lightly traced the outline of the black feathered wings that spanned from his chest to his shoulder blades, ending on his back.“This confirms that we are not just mates but fated mates. Gifted to each other by the gods themselves.”
“You’re right. I shouldn’t have been worried. Do you like it?”
“I do, but why a raven?”By the raven’s position, it was as if the bird was sitting on his shoulders with his beak so close to his ear.“Does it mean anything? Is that your familiar or something? I’ve never heard of vampires having familiars, though.”
“That kind of bird is special to me. Believe it or not, a raven watched over me while I was a baby until my teenage years. It also means that anywhere you are, I’ll be able to find you. Especially if you’re in danger. It is a sign of protection.”
“Okay.”
