"Really?" Quintus said raising a brow in Marlow's direction. "I know exactly what it looks like."
"I…" Marlow started stuttering and then stopped when he realized Quintus was holding back a smile. "You two are such assholes. Oh gods, I did it again." He ran out of Scott's office the second he started laughing.
"I feel like I missed something," Quintus said, walking over to him as he wiped away the tears from his eyes.
"You didn't miss anything," he said between chuckles, pulling Quintus in his arms. "How was your day?"
"Lonely without you," Quintus whispered leaning up and connecting their lips.
"Shit. You know the way to my heart, don't you?"
"Just as you know the way to mine." They kissed once more, before Quintus stepped back. "Come on, or we're going to be late for dinner with Mama and Gabe."
"Did you tell my bearer to meet us there?" Scott asked. He was happy to seehis mate and bearer were getting along. He knew how worried Quintus was that his family wouldn't like him, but Scott knew otherwise.
"Yes, your parents will meet us there."
"Is Arianna still upset with me?"
"No, I think she got over the crush she has on you," Quintus said with a smile. "I think your bearer is her new crush, now."
Scott put a hand on his chest. "I’m so wounded, I can't believe it. I was kicked to the side by my old man."
"Dear, dear," Quintus said lightly patting his chest. "'You'll get over it. All right, let's go."
Scott saw a glimmer in Quintus's eye, and he knew his mate was up to something.
"Kitty, please promise me you guys aren't planning a birthday party for me?"
"My sweet vampire. Your birthday is at the end of the month, and you specifically asked that we do not give you a party."
"Why don't I believe you, kitty?"
"Because you worry too much. Now come on, I'm hungry and so is my cub or cubs?"
They were both excited to be parents. At the moment, no one other than family and close friends knew Quintus was pregnant. They wanted to make sure everything was okay with their cubs as Quintus liked to call them.
"So, they are your cubs?"
"I am the one carrying them for seven months, of course they are mine. And you promised to do anything I say."
"That I did." Scott smiled and turned to pick up the box Marlow brought him earlier.
"What's that?"
"Oh, something I ordered," Scott said, smiling.
"Why do I get the feeling you're hiding something from me?"
"'Didn't you say you were hungry? Wait...your words were ‘my cubs are hungry.’" Scott chuckled and walked out of his office, pulling his mate behind him. He was glad Quintus couldn't see the smile on his face. He was sure his mate was going to love what was in the box.

“You outdid yourself this year, boss.”Quintus smiled as he shook hands with Ryan, one of his foreman, who was a tiger shifter.
“I’m so glad you and your family could make it.”
“Miss a paid company day of fun. Hell. Even if I weren’t getting paid, I’d be here.”
