“I need to get him upstairs and get him treated. He’s lost a lot of blood and doesn’t have anything to treat him with down here.”
“What about Naheem? I know I hit him pretty hard, but I don’t know if he’s dead.”
“We’ll take care of Naheem.”
They both turned to see Bedwyr standing over them, but he was looking at Nicholas more than anyone else. Sirius was so focused on Alphonso that he hadn’t heard him approach.
“Please, take care of him,” Bedwyr said. “I can’t lose someone else I care about.” Sirius could see that Bedwyr was also in love with Nicholas and hoped that they’d be able to be together.
“I promise you won’t lose him,” Sirius reassured his father. “Just make sure you tell him how you feel when he wakes up.”
Bedwyr kneeled in front of Nicholas who opened his eyes for a quick second. Bedwyr leaned close and gently kissed him on his lips. “Don’t leave me, Nic, not when we just got started.”
“I won’t,” Nicholas said drowsily.
“I’ll be back once we’ve taken care of Naheem. Keep me up to date on Nic’s progress.”
Sirius nodded. “I will.”
Alphonso picked up Nicholas’ body. They got on the elevator when the doors finally opened. He looked back at the commotion and saw EMT’s wheeling away Naheem’s body.
It’s finally over. Now I can live my life without looking over my shoulders.
Sirius looked at Alphonso, after knowing what happened to his mother, he promised himself that nothing was going to come between them.
Now all I have to do is save Nicholas’ life.
